Invalid batch sequence on nurit 2085

When running a transaction "invalid batch sequence" prints on the receipt and the transaction is cancelled. how do I fix this?

Press the yellow menu/esc key (enter password if app.) press 3 and select single ply paper from the menu (use the arrow keys to navigate ie. return, void, verify, offline) then esc to the main screen.

we have Star TSP 700II and it is doing the same. not just 4inches but sometimes it adds extra 20-30 inches blank space. I think it was due to incorrect paper size settings.
Why dont you to go printer properties->Device settings and change the Friction size..as well as set Pagecut to Partial.
Also change preferences under Properties, advanced and change papersize to what suits you .

Can you print a receipt from the previous business day?


Only if it hasn't "batched" yet.

You can press the "Reprint" button (second from right purple button) to reprint the last receipt. You can also print any receipt that hasn't batched yet (normally from the current business day) by entering the receipt number. You can guess the number if you don't know it. Number 1 is the first transaction of the day, number 2 is the next one, etc.

If for some reason your transactions from the previous business day didn't get sent as a batch to the processor successfully, you would be able to print receipts for them. Otherwise, contact your processing company, and they should be able to send you a copy of the receipt.

My Nurit 2085 "Enter" button is becoming harder


The enter button is getting harder do press because the contacts below the button are getting worn. The only maintenance that you can do is to take the machine apart and clean the contacts. This will make it like brand new. And you should blow out the buttons with canned air every couple of weeks, for future reference.

Anyone have any info on how i can update my Nurit 2085 from NOS 6 to NOS 7 I have heard that Verifone no longer supports the update.


VeriFone NOS 6 Operating System
VeriFone has assigned “end of life” status to the NURIT NOS 6 operating system. The terminal manufacturer previously announced that it would discontinue support for NOS 6 applications and stop offering NOS 6-to-NOS 7 upgrades on October 31, 2009.
On July 1, 2010, VeriFone will permanently shut down the loader required to convert from NOS 6 to NOS 7, making the upgrade unavailable to all models of NURIT terminals.
Merchants who wish to continue receiving support for impacted NURIT terminals are strongly encouraged to update their operating systems (if possible) prior to the July 1 deadline. Currently, there are three devices in the marketplace that may be eligible for the NOS 6-to-NOS 7 operating system upgrade:
  • NURIT 2085 03
  • NURIT 2085 04
  • NURIT 2085 21
To notify eligible First Data Independent Sales customers, they will include a message in the May 2010 month-end merchant statement (scheduled for release in early June) advising NURIT 2085 users to contact the Omaha POS Help Desk to update their terminals.

Printing jerky, screen goes blank


BATCH or SETTLE before doing this for all data stored will be WIPED clean.

The flash memory needs to be reset there are RAM errors that need to be cleared out.

Unplug power Hold 1,5,9, and review down while holding it down someone can plug in the power cord it will take you to NOS Loader menu.
Choose option 6 or 8 Back to NOS Password 1947. Then choose option 6 service menu, then 1 hardware test, then 13 or 15 RAM TEST make sure it says RAM TEST. Then it will say this is self destructive it is fine hit enter when test is done it will take you back to the date and time mae sure you input it correctly then enter and it should then be fine.

Verifone Vx570 - Invalid Batch Sequence and PIN Pad Error


Well the terminal counting mechanism works in conjunction with your credit card processor. So if you forget to batch out (settle your transactions) it will give false errors. Even if you conduct a partial especially in a restaurant environment because of tips rule of thumb is always settle the sales it will save you time and a headache.

Also the pin pad error is that you have to almost always have peripherals detached before any downloads. Before detaching make sure all power is off then unplug the pin pad. Partials are only for veterens like myself that know what can be a partial download and when a full download needs to be done. Always recommend your tech to do a full download. I helped develop some of the Verifone terminals applications so taking care of these issues is a breeze.

the batch seq can be changed internally in the machine
Hit more until you see other setup. Password 1 Alpha Alpha 66831 then choose merchant by hitting the more key again. Once you choose merchants hit select on 1/1 then edit the batch number to the next one hit enter then ext save changes. RED X key to escape to main screen. This step needs to be done with no transactions.

The best solution is to have tech support remove the offending transaction from the batch, and then settle the batch. Since it is just a pre-auth, you'll need to run a post-auth to complete the transaction anyway, so it's not a big deal in this case. In the case of it being an actual sale transaction, you would have to remove the transaction from the batch, and then re-run it through PCCharge as a post-auth.

If you don't want to deal with VFI's tech support (I wouldn't either), then depending on your version, you may have more options. If it's a later version 5.7.x and up, there is a batch utility that will allow you to remove the transaction by yourself. If you are using an older version that does not include the batch manager utility, you could rename the batch file (in case you need it later) and in the case of 2 transactions, re-run them in directly in PCCharge as post-auths. Verify that the correct transactions are in in the batch, and then settle as normal. (just as an FYI, pcc tech support will not rebuild any batches with less than 50 transactions. So it might not be a bad idea to learn the batch manager and/or renaming files if you are sticking with PCC).

This is most likely cause by a crupt transaction or a transaction that is not aloud stuck inside the terminal. Once you batch out contact your processing comapnyask them if they see you current batch you jut settled. If so they will need to clear the the terminal and up the batch number. Just make sure all of your sale are settled with your processign comapny before you go ahead and clear the terminal.
