Try to test your catridges to another printer first if its working then you need to reset your printers waste pad counter, platen and others. You need a program like
GeneralTool for IP1800 printers.

On the canon MX300, holding the "reset" button down for about 10 seconds will extinguish the alarm light & should normalize all functions. The ink level will still indicate "low" , just ignore it.

It seems that canon don;t like you using recon cartridges and have updated printer software that wont allow anything but genuine canon cartridges i have tried all other avenues but the minute i put in the real canon cartridge, hey presto, it;s a bummer i know, hope this is of help to somebody.
