SOURCE: lose audio to receiver when connecting component video input

I don't know if it's firmware or hardware, however, it is NOT a problem, it is the DESIGN -- and an asinine one at that.

Essentially due to copyright issues with HD video, they CAN NOT decode the video to an analog output source. That's all fine and good, however, the audio never fell into that copyright issue. So you should be able to carry though the audio signal from those sources (since in the case of the component input, they're analog anyway). I think Hitachi is the ONLY company that just disables ALL analog outputs when it senses the video signal on the component or HDMI inputs (and you have the tv set for that input). They really should have ONLY disabled the video.

I had a half hour conversation with customer service, begging them to 1) file a complaint to fix this in the next firmware version, or 2) let me speak with an engineer to give me a hack -- obviously they didn't do that :(

The funny thing is, they WILL allow the Optical Audio output signal to carry though.

I've now been frantically searching the internet for information on how to bypass this ridiculous design 'feature'. As this TV isn't that popular, there's not much info out there on how to do so. So, I wouldn't know if I can simply try to attack the firmware code, or, if I actually have to take off the back of the TV and muck around with my soldering iron -- I'm hoping firmware.

One test shows that the control signal to SHUT OFF the entire analog outputs (audio and video) is on the 'Pb' (blue) input of the component video. If I have that one cable pulled out, I can get the Audio out to work and hear everything on my external stereo -- obviously I have a completely jibberish and unwatchable picture though. Once I plug in the 'Pb' cable, the picture comes in, obviously, but the external stereo sound cuts off.

At any rate. Just to reiterate, it's a design issue, and Hitachi seems unwilling to address the HD video copyright issues any other way. I am going to obviously send them a letter by mail telling them how their 'sledge hammer' approach to this issue is ridiculous when there is a 'scalpel' approach that is completely legally viable -- and all their competitors do it that way.

For this reason I now regret buying this TV.

SOURCE: LG 37LC7D Connect to VGA from a PC

Your right. I just had the same "Invalid Input" issue as well and it completely relates to the resolution compatability with any VGA or HDMI connection. Check the LG website for the online manual if you don't have it and see the section on RGB-PC cable. There is a table that incdicates the Resolutions the LG product is capable of displaying.

Thanks for the help.

SOURCE: I Just connect My pc via 15 pin RGB cable to LG

You probably need a audio cable that runs from the pc audio out to the TV audio in. Radio shack has them so do a lot of hardware store and best buy.

SOURCE: need a code for grundig tv

Grundig is an European brand, and these mostly use the remote control standard established by Philips. If you have some Philips TV models on your universal remote list, try these, one of them might do the job perfectly well.

I just got a multimedia surround system with subwoofer.Spa7650/05, 180w.The subwoofer has three audio connections, front, centre and rear,My tv only has an audio coaxial.I can't connect it.What adapter...

Hello,
Firs of all lets get agree on something..The subwoofer has three audio connections for "output " to :front, centre and rear speakers...these are not for "input"..Your powered SUB provides necessary signal for other spekers..
You can connect TV audio coaxial to SUB input with a RCA cable.....if your SUB does not have "RCA input " probably it should have "3,5mm Haedphone female Jack"..
if this is the case you need to buy a cable ; one end 3,5mm MALE headphone jack and the other end 2xRCA stereo (or 1x RCA for mono or you may need "Y cable " ) to be connected to your TV...
And you need to connect front, centre and rear speakers to your SUB as well...

How do i connect my wii to my new samsung ue46d6530?

Input &
Output

HDMI 1.4 (3D Auto Setting/Return Channel):4
USB:3
Component In (Y/Pb/Pr):1
Composite In (AV):1(Common Use for Component Y)
Digital Audio Out (Optical):1
PC In (D-sub):1
CI Slot:1
SCART:1
RF In (Terrestrial / Cable input):1
RF In (Satellite input):1
Headphone:1
PC Audio In (Mini Jack):1
DVI Audio In (Mini Jack):1 (Common Use for PC Audio in)
Audio Out (Mini Jack):-
Ethernet (LAN):1

Initially I thought the problem was going to be no composite input on this television. However according to the specs there is one composite (yellow, white, red) input and that is where you connect the wii. Is the problem that you've already connected something to the one input and you're looking for another spot to connect the wii? There is a wii component cable http://www.amazon.com/Official-Wii-Component-Video-Cable-Nintendo/dp/B000JJRV90

Want to connect pc speakers and subwoofer to lg37lc55 tv unfortunaly it doesnt have an earphone 3.5 connection point. My other smaller tv does, the speakers and subwoofer consist of a white and red audio...

Hello,
Your TV should have an AUDIO OUTPUT other than optic..at least " Headphones" output..
You can connect TV audio output with a RCA cable.
white and red audio jack....
since SUB has both RCA and "3,5mm Headphone female Jack"..here are the options;
** you need to buy a cable one end 3,5mm MALE headphone jack and the other end 2xRCA stereo (or 1x RCA for mono or you may need "Y cable " ) to be connected to your TV...
** or 2x RCA
white and red audio jack and connect from your TV..
**" "Headphones" output to SUB with 3,5 male-to-male cable ( the least recommended)
And you need to connect front, centre and rear speakers to your SUB as well...

2004 jvc 56in projection tv, has sound but no picture

Hello

Change the channel to ensure the problem isn't with the current station broadcast. Check the channel at a later time to see if the broadcast problem is resolved.

The type of programming you are trying to watch determines the proper input source. Press the "Input" button on the remote control to change to the proper input source. For example, if the source is a cable or satellite service, press the "Input" button until "TV" mode is selected. A component device, such as a DVD player, will operate on a different input source, such as "Video-1."

Check the coaxial cable, which connects your television broadcast service provider to your television. You need to securely connect the coaxial cable to the "ATSC/Digital Cable In" jack on the back of the television, and the other end to the wall jack. If the cable appears damaged, replace it with a new cable.

If you are using a component device as the source of your programming, ensure the component cables are plugged into the "Video Input" and "Audio Input" jacks on the back of the television or that the S-Video cable is plugged into the "S-Video Input" jack on the back of the television. Connect the other end of the cables to the "Video Output" and "Audio Output" jacks or "S-Video Output" jack on the component device.

Hooking up my Sony HD Tv

Couple of items come to mind.
In the menu of the receiver, is there a way to choose video and RGB?
Set the receiver to SAT
Connect the HD Cable Box to SAT
Check the TV is on Monitor RGB.
Check the input being used by the monitor RGB cables is selected on the TV.
Have a picture? NO, receiver has issues.
Yes? Do this with each input to confirm they work.
You can reset the whole receiver to factory by holding the tone button down and holding the standby button for three seconds. (This clears your speaker setups, too.)

My 42 inch sylvania plasma tv does not have a coax connection, so how do i hook up my cable to the audio/video connection? i know there is an rf converter to transfer audio/video to coax but i really...

Since your TV only has audio and video input jacks, you can connect those to audio and video output jacks on the VCR. Now connect the coax cable to the RF/ant input on the VCR and you'll have to change channels by using the VCR channel selector.
Let me know if you require further assistance.

I cant find the video input for dvd

It sounds like your unit has no AV jack on it. Therefor the best way to resolve this is to use a cable box or a vcr so the output for the vcr or cable box can be connected to the tvs antennae jack, through the coaxial cable, and the game unit can be connected to the audio video jacks of the vcr or cable box.

Simply switch the vcr or cable box to the line mode to activate the game port.

I want to setup my logitech x540 surround sound through my tv (which is LG 37LC2D the jacks at the back are Inputs: AV In 1 RF In Y AV In 1 S-Video In 1 Scart Jacks 3 Component in Audio 1 Digital Audio...

Hi,

Based on your query "...which jack...put the green cable ...", I would suggest that you replace that green cable with a 3.5mm Stereo Phone Male to Twin RCA Male as shown below.
19ba6b8.jpg. The stereo phone would match the green INput ((Front) of the Logitech X-540 while the twin RCA (white & red) would match the RCA AUDIO OUTput of the LG 37LC2D.
f133914.jpg
Of course hooking it up this way would not fully utilize the 5.1 features of the X-540 (Rear and Sub/Center) but the TV sound will come out of the front speakers.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
