One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive boot up

test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty ?

make sure the CPU central processing unit has thermal grease and a dust free secure seating

even something as small as an electrical extension or a faulty fan lead can cause this problem follow the troubleshooting procedure a computer needs all of the data and electrical current to travel through every working device and to have an end for a computer to be able work properly

motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd drives need to have current go through make sure these devices are working

also check your computer ram and cmos battery to make sure they are securely seated and the battery has plenty of charge

some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in

hope this helps

THE MONITOR DISPLAYS MESSAGE-- NO SIGNAL INPUT

Check your signal cable from the system unit, if this persists, then its the display that is not working or try opening the computer, replace is ram with another chip, again if this fails, remove its cmos battery, unplug all the power cables from the mother board, leave it for atleast 20minutes, replace everything and power it on.

I have asus p5p800-mx mother board morboard working fine and also start but on monitor no display and i also try to install additional graphics card then also no display

Have you tested the monitor to see if it is working? Is the vga cable good? Are you getting the BIOS start-up display screens when computer is booting up or no display at all? It is odd that both the on board video and video card would be bad I would double check the cable connection and the monitor. If the cable is good and the monitor is working properly than the board might be bad. You should at least get the BIOS start-up screen display.

Asus p5b-mx motherboard no display no beep

when ever you are getting the beep messages after you remove the ram card and connecting the tower to the power cord it shows that mother board is functiong normally so no problem with the mother board .try this steps so that it may resolve the issue.

1. No Boot:
. Check the cables
. Check with the socket on the wall as well as surge protector
. Swap the power cable with the monitor
. Power drain ( after removing all the cables press and hold the power button on the tower for 10-15 sec and the re-insert the power cable and connect the monitor and check)
Monitor does not power on
Check with the power cable
Check with the cable from the monitor
Swap the cable
Power drain
If the cust gets the power on the monitor and even the tower but still if he cannot view anything on the screen

Can't turn my compuer on

Check on *********** board that your CMOS jumper is in normal mode otherwise change it - also check any beep sound aswell as you remove all the cables ie.. IDE cables, front panel cables I mean only the 2 power cables to the motherboard and try to start the pc by shorting the power switch pin with a screwdriver see the display coming or not ????

IF it is a branded pc - you have to buy the same companies motherboard, normal motherboard will not work with branded pcs.

Pc starts and runs but wont boot up monitor shows no signal

1) When you turn on the computer, watch and listen for:

a) power supply fan, (power is on)
b) chassis lights (power is on)
c) ticking sound during memory test
(the BIOS POST is running)

d) beeps or rhythmical error codes
(POST failed, bad CPU, CHIP set, memory or video)

e) Monitor either comes on, displays garbled video,
displays a No Sync or No Signal message...

No depending on how far it gets:

Check power supply, cables etc.
Check video cable.
Check monitor with a different PC

Now unplug the power cord, with the computer still
on, this will help drain any internal capacitors.
Wait 5 minutes, then shut off the switches,
and open up the box. try the following,
one at a time:

2) Remove all I/O cards except the video card,
and don't plug them back in until the problem
is fixed. Unplug all the ribbon cables from
the mother board as well:

Hard drives, CD drive, floppies etc.

Make sure you make notes about how to plug it
back in, and cable orientation !!!

0) Re-seat all power cables: Red, Black Yellow harnesses.

1) Unplug and re-seat the video card

2) Similarly, re-seat all memory SIM/DIM modules,

3) Re-seat the CPU

4) Replace the video card

5) Replace memory, CPU or whole mother board,

Plug the good parts back in one at a time,
and test the machine.

Save for the power supply, there really is NO way to test
and isolate a bad module except by swapping/ trial and error
because of inter-dependencies.

For example a bad I/O card, any I/O card, can short circuit
the I/O bus, causing all other plug-in cards to stop working,
or even the main mother-board to freeze during the POST.

A bad power supply ditto.

A bad memory chip ... ditto.

The type of electronic instruments required to actually
test modern computers running at Gigahertz speed cost
hundreds of thousands of dollars, some cost millions, and
are only available to hi end manufacturers

Even the power supply will not power up for a voltage check
if the mother board is bad, although you can use a jumper
on the green wire to ground to force it on, when you unplug
the power connector from the mother-board, if you are brave.

Computer shops carry a lot of spare parts, and their service
department has gutted computers rigged up as test jigs.

They trouble shoot your system by either plugging your
stuff into their jigs, one at a time, or by plugging known
good components into your computer until the problem
is fixed.

This if of course possibly dangerous, since one bad part
can also fry other good parts that plug into it, or that it
plugs into. The compute shops, of course charge you
enough to make up for this.

If a computer is partially operable, it is also possible to
run software diagnostics.

If not, swap and pray is the only way.

Hope this helps

Well you really need to get a manual for that. Check the website and download the manual with that model, for sure there is one.

I guess you have connected all the connectors there incorrectly so better look for a manual.
