SOURCE: Dometic 2852 freezer gets cold but refridge does not

If your freezer is getting down close to zero degrees (F) then I doubt that your refrigerant is low. The most common cause of the refrigerator section not getting cool (approximately 40 degrees (f)) is a fan that pulls the coils in the freezer into the refrigerator has failed. A very common failure of a cheep little fan motor. Normally that fan is behind a panel in the freezer section at the bottom. Determine where the cold air in the refrigerator section normally enters and the fan will be above there.

SOURCE: Refrigerator for lp-gas and electri

SOLENOID VALVE Check the solenoid coil with a properly calibrated ohm meter. Remove the connector from the solenoid and measure the resistance across the terminals. The proper reading would be 49 ohms with tolerance range of ten percent. . . Next, hook up a manometer at the test port. Then check for DC volts at gas valve terminals while the unit is in trial-for-ianition. If DC volts are present and pressure is low, replace the valve. If DC volts are not present at the valve while the unit is in trial-for-ianition, verify that the wire at Plug 3, Terminal 2 on lower circuit board have DC volts v (9V or more)
IGNITER First verify proper voltage at the positive (+) and ground (-) terminals of the ignitor. The reading should be within one volt of incoming voltage at the main terminal block during trial-for-inanition Next, remove high voltage cable from igniter. The igniter should produce a sparking sound, during trial-for-inanition. If not, replace the igniter. The igniter installed on the refrigerators as original equipment is part number 2931132019 (RV Gas Model 679). This igniter is rated 50 MA. This igniter may also be used on any other model
Hope this helped

SOURCE: refrigerator is running on LP-gas

As per the problem, its indicating towards bad thermister, it has to be replaced.----- The thermister is the part That controls the temperature.---- To test the thermistor follow this procedure :--- Disconnect the thermistor harness from the P2, 2-pin terminal on the lower circuit board. Place the thermistor in a glass of ice water (more ice than water), approximately 33° F to 35° F. Wait 8 to 10 minutes. You should get a reading of approximately 8,000 to 10,000 ohms. Always test from the wire side as shown with the meter as not to create a connection problem at the P2 connector. -------- There is a service manual available for your dometic rm-2652 refrigerator. Click the link below:-- http://www.fourwheelcampers.com/NewDometicRefrigeratorManual.pdf --------- On page number 11 is mentioned about thermistor.---Be sure that it just didn't get knocked off the fin where it attaches in the fridge. If it tests bad then it is about a $30 part depending on where you buy it and it takes about an hour to replace. Also be sure it has a good connection on the control board.
all tests are provided in service manual.-------
Also click this link for more details:--- http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2011/07/dometic-fridge-freezing-in-refrigerator.html ---------- This should help.thanks.Helpmech.

Our refrigerator works on AC. When switched to lp gas it sometimes come on and works and then goes off. Then we can't get it to work again. Then it will work if we turn on the hot water hea

It seems like a gas pressure problem. Possible blockage or kinked pipe or faulty regulator on the gas bottle. If the fridge runs ok only when you use the gas hot water, that would change the gas flow / pressure. LP gas products are normally around 1.5 to 2.75 kpa pressure. If you have access to a manometer, the gas pressure can be checked. (NB/ You should hold a gas service licence to do this)

I have a Domatic RM 2852 in my RV. The freezer works fine but the refrigerator won't cool to 40 on electricity. It cools fine on gas.

You need to unplug the heating element from the circuit board and using a digital multi meter check the ohms. You should read approximately 44 ohms +/- 10%. If it is out of range change the heating element.

We were told that its a faulty control board on most Rm2852 units. a factory defect.
Ours did the same thing first the gas would not stay on to cool but the unti worked fine on electric...now the electric is not working...the heater gets hot and burner comes on but does not stay on..they system shuts down..and will not cool. .

2005 dometric rm 2852 wont cool

I suggest the main control board is faulty because of the spike. The voltage would have damaged some of the control circuit - even though the fuses did not blow. Sounds like a memory fault on a control chip.

Dometic RM2862 Can you reset the thermo fuse? Current going to it but nothing going out and wouldn't this cause the unit not to work at all?

It probablby has a timer in it. You can reset the timer by turning it clockwise, and the compressor would come on again. It is usualy located under the concoles where the setting button is located. Look for a small hole under that console. If a thermal breaker is making the compressor cut off, it is usually located on the compressor where all the wiring are going in, along with the starting capacitor. Usually if the compressor is overheating and making the thermal breaker go off, there is a problem with the compressor, or it is low on refrigerant. A low refrigerant will make a compressor overheat. Furthermore if the compressor has been being overload by low refrigerant, it will be damaged sooner or later, by overheating the elecmotor inside and causing a short. If resetting the timer don't work and it is indeed the thermal breaker, unplug the machine and get it service, which I hope the compressor is still okay.
