SOURCE: can't get top off kenmore washer model # 110 22852 100

No problem. What you want to do is this, remove the screws from the back panel first to remove that metal plate protecting the wires. Once off you need to take off the two covers on the sides of the control panel. There is one on each side, just pop them off. Once off you will see there is a screw under there holding the control panel in place. Remove the screws and that will lean back. Next take a flat head screw driver and put it under the lip of the lid on the front of the washer. I mean the lip that is about an inch down from the top on the front. Pry up and the whole lid will pop up. You will see the lid switch there held in by a screw, follow the wire to where it plugs in and unplug it and replace with the new one. Let me know if you have any other questions and if this was helpful to you. Always happy to help and good luck.

SOURCE: my washer stops in the middle of the cycle, it

This problem is commonly attributed to a lid switch malfunction. I will need a more accurate model number to confirm (located under the washer lid along the tub rim). "110" is only the beginning prefix of the model number, which identifies the manufacturer. I will need the remaining numbers to determine how the washer is configured.

The lid switch is usually mounted under the washer top casing, on the right hand side on most top load models. It is activated by a plastic piece on the lid (called a "Lid Strike") through a small hole on the rim of the wash tub opening. In many cases the lid strike breaks off the lid, or the lid switch becomes loose and no longer makes contact. Inspect the lid to make sure the lid strike is still intact, and then inspect the mounting screws (adjacent to the small opening on the wash tub rim) and make sure they are snug.

A replacement lid switch can be purchased on line at searspartsdirect.com, repairclinic.com or appliancepartspros.com. All three sites offer competitive pricing, so shop all three for the best price. For instructions on how to replace a lid switch, you can refer to my profile and look under my "Tips and Tricks" for links for Replacing a Lid Switch. If you still need assistance, please contact me and let me know. PS If the lid switch IS defective and you need instructions on how to by-pass it in order to drain the wash tub, let me know. In addition, if my diagnosis is not correct, please post back and elaborate a bit more so I can assist you further.

SOURCE: kenmore 70 series, 110 washer leaks water when

Hi, You will need to change the inlet mixer valve. It is sticking open just enough to allow water to drip through it. This should be chandes asap so that it doesn't get bad enough to over flow the washer.
Here are directions on how to remove the cabinet so you can get to the inlet valve.
Removing the cabinet. UNPLUG the washer. There are two screws holding the control panel to the cabinet. Most models the screw are in front but, some models have the screws in back. They are on each end. Now raise the control panel up and let it rest on the hinges. Unplug the lid switch harness and locate the clips on each side (bronze in color) and release them.
Now the cabinet will lift off the frame and you can set it aside.
Please let me know if this helps you or if I can assist you further.

Thanks
Vic

You need to level the washer. They also have things to put under the feet to keep it from moving. Or try to block the feet.

How do you get the top of the cabinet off of a Sears heavy duty washer series 80, model #11092283800? It vibrates excessively w/o a load.

should be 2 screws in the control panel ,some panels you need to remove the end caps to remove them, then just flip the control panel back it has plastic hinges so be careful, then you unplug the lid switch, pop off the 2 gold clips holding the back panel to the housing.then just reach inside the lid tilt slightly towards you and lift off the frame.

Our Kenmore Elite front loader vibrates when it kicks into the high spin cycle. What should we do about this?

if located in upper floor laundry room, you may need to compensate a weak floor by putting an absorption pad under all four legs of the washer...if the dryer next to the washer vibrates when washer is spinning, the floor is the problem, not the washer

Washer vibrates alot

The following link may give you some pointers on what to check on your kenmore Elite to resolve the vibration problem:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3633026-front_loader_excessive_vibration

This could be a matter of the legs becoming unlevel during the move, a shock absorber becoming damaged, or it could be the new location. These front loaders need a good firm and level foundation. Read through the link provided and let me know if you have any questions. I hope this helps you solve your problem.
