Re: PV-DM2799

Probably Wendy, Now a days you can purchace a combo unit new for about 150 or so. To fix this set is going to be about 100 bucks if not more. Unless you want to invest in an estimate charge on a six year old set, Its advised to purchace a new one.

Black Square

I had the same problem with DVDs. It turrned out that I turned the closed caption on a few days earlier, so I turned the "closed caption" off and the problem went away.

No sound from built-in DVD player on TV?

It sounds like the audio cable from the DVD drive may be loose or damaged. Did you wall mount the TV and this is when the problem started or has it always been like this? If its under warranty, contact the helpline on 0871 2000 463, be warned, if its becuase the cable is damaged by a wall mounting screw, its clearly evident and they will charge for repair.

Panasonic Triple Play Model PV-DM2799

Since it works then fails it sound like a simple cold solder joint. All TV's can have this problem and it is a simple one, Solder will heat up and cool down at different temperatures, this will cause a small ring fracture at the connection, simply re soldering this will fix your problem.
