What does it mean when there is no sound,no picture and a NO SIGNAL message appears? There is power and I am able to access the menu screen, but there is nothing when hooked to a cable in any way--not directly, not through the cable converter box, or the VCR. I am hoping the problem is a fuse or a chip; you know something so simple I have to laugh at myself for overlooking such a simple solution!! Please help--I live in nowhere-ville, with no TV repair places!
Thanx, Stacy

It means theres a fault in the sweep power supply or a reset problem. try to unplug the set over night to see if it will reset. If it does not help. your going to have to call someone to troubleshoot this beast, as a TV set is now where for someone without the proper training to be inside of and tinkering in.
Ok, staycee. Does your hubbie know how to read a schematic? Does he know how to solder and unsolder a printed circuit board, as being a plumber he would have to solder but if he soldered a Printed circuit board with what he solders copper piping with, it would burn up. On this set it could be a simple tuner problem but a schematic would assist him in seeing if its in the tuner or the circuit that controls the tuner. Also did you unplug for 12 to 24 hours?Ok, staycee. Does your hubbie know how to read a schematic? If you're seeing a "Check Cable" message on the monitor - it's working. If this message appears, it means the monitor isn't receiving a signal from the computer. Cable could be loose, or video circuit has failed.
If it shows "No Signal" it means it. It do not get any signal to display. Check all the settings. Refer its user manual for details. First, try to tune it to on-air program, by do an auto-tune function, after connecting it to an external antenna. Refer its user manual for more details. If it do receive all the channels transmitted, means, the set is OK, and the fault will be with the input selection, you've done. OK? Gopakumar Gopalan Google
First of all disconnect the power & unplug the video cable from the back of the CPU & Monitor. Power-on the monitor & wait 10 secs. If the Monitor is functioning correctly, a 'No Signal' message appears & sometimes keeps bouncing around like a screen saver motion. This means your monitor is OK, if no signal message is not showing then either backlight or inverter(power) input has gone KAPUT. Replacing either or both may not turn out to be a cost effective soln. However if the damage is only in the cable then simply replace it or use the HDMI port..........................Sodeep63
These problems can be created by loose contacts in power outlet, RC jack, cable, sockets. Check these thoroughly and if necessary, change the RC cables. The message you see might be something related to auto shut off activated due to poor or lack of signal. This might also be from the service provider's computer.
A " no signal" message on the screen means that the set is telling you that it is not receiving a signal from whatever component you have hooked up to it in most cases. But the main be can be bad. The input connections are on the Main bd. Try hooking up another source(Component) to that input and see if you get a picture. If you do then yo either have a bad comoonent or bad cables. If you do not get a picture then your Main bd is probably the issue.
§Turn Off the Monitor. §Unplug all the Cables from the back of the Monitor. §After unplugging all the Cables press and Hold the Power Button at the Front of the Monitor for 20 Seconds. §Plug all the cables back. §Turn it on. §See if you get the Picture on the Monitor. §if you don’t get any Picture then. §Unplug the Cable which is connected at the Back of the CPU. §If you get the Message "No Input Signal” or "Check Video Signal" it means that Your Monitor is Fine. §Try doing the Factory Default settings from the menu Buttons at the Front of the Monitor. §If you don’t get any Message then it means you Monitor has Gone Bad and Needs to be replaced.
If you can access the internet then go to www.toshiba.com and then download the update program again sounds like there is an address problem and this should clear it up
When you receive the message with id and password, it usually means that either your phone is not multimedia messaging compatible or your account is not provisioned with the actual multimedia messaging feature itself. If unable to send or receive a picture message (MMS), troubleshoot accordingly:
Verify MMS is being sent to an AT&T subscriber. If MMS message is being sent to someone other then an AT&T wireless services subscriber, verify that the carrier is supported.
Picture messaging settings are pre-configured on all devices purchased from AT&T. If the settings have been altered or if the device was not purchased from AT&T, validate picture message settings are properly configured.
Attempt to send an MMS again.
If further assistance is required, please contact Customer Care.
If problems occur, please perform the following troubleshooting steps:
Usually means that the computer is not sending a signal out the the projector via the monitor cable. Most Windows based laptop computers allow you to connect to a second monitor by pressing the Fn + F7 or F8 key, once to allow just the projector, twice to allow both the projector and laptop screen and three times back to only the laptop.
