SOURCE: replacing thermal fuse on dryer

Would need to know what type of unit you have and a model number. On most Kenmore and Whirlpool models they are mounted on the heater box itself. Depending on the type it could be inside the rear panel, or mounted on the floor of the unit. On Frigidaire and other models it mounts to the element case in the rear. Maytags also mount to the element box on the top left inside. Most of the time they have a couple of different looks. On Whirlpool and Kenmore, they have 2 wires running to them, and usually sit away from the thermostat. If its inside the rear panel of these units, it will be towards the top by itself, and could be white or black depending on the age, round or sqaure. On GE, Frigidaire, and their look a likes, it will be small and round, with two wires going to them as well. Most of the time these are metallic in color. Maytags can be black or mettalic, and sit on the sides of the boxes. If this doest help you, please get me the model number and make of unit, and will tell you right where its at. Good Luck!!!!!

The air flow past the thermal fuse is too hot. The air flow cools the heater coil area. Check the air passages from the lint filter to the heator coil housing for lint balls blocking the flow and letting the area around the fuse get too hot.

Lg dlex7177wm heating element

If the dryer doesn't heat, but the drum turns, check the thermal fuse(s). The thermal fuse protects the dryer from overheating and helps to prevent fires. If the thermal fuse is blown, it will have to be replaced.
If the dryer doesn't heat, the element assembly should be checked for continuity. The heating element assembly cannot be repaired and must be replaced if defective.
This is a specialised job and should only be attempted by technically competent persons.

you have an airflow problem. Check the vent hose all the way out and the outdoor vent hood.
a simple verification can be performed by disconnecting the vent hose from the dryer and see if this solves the problem.

LG Dryer DLE2516W contiuously trips breaker but only on heat setting greater than low

Your circuit breaker may be bad. Run dryer and if breaker gets hot after 10min or so the breaker is bad.
Higher heat settings draw more amperage thus tripping the bad or undersized breaker. 30 amp 2 pole breaker required.
Ck. the power cord for signs of arching. Replace power cord or outlet if damaged.
