Wii USB not working

Hi there,

Just bought the new Guitar Hero and I went and plugged in the Microphone and it does not work in either of the USB openings. I know that a few months ago I played the American Idol game and the USB worked just fine.. Could they have turned off some how or could it be that the Microphone is bad??? Any help or solution would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

I had the same problem but i found out if you only have 2 remotes and you use them for the guitar and the drums the mic wont work.
you have to use one of the remotes for the microphone
first unplug your wii console then hook up the mic to the consol
turn the wii on and use the remote for player one to activate the game without the other instruments connected.
after you get the game started it will recognize the microphone. then connect the other remote to which ever instrument you want to use. you have to have three remotes to use the guitar the drums and the microphone

From the Activision Support Site:

If your microphone is not working then please check to make sure that the microphone USB plug is firmly plugged into the USB port. If the microphone is firmly plugged into the USB port then go into the game and make sure that you are setting it up properly. The player using the microphone must have a Nintendo Wii remote connected to the console. Check your game manual for game-specific configuration settings.

My best solution is to get a small fan and let it blow into it but don't blow in yourself cus you saliva can make it worse.

and if that didn't help use the back of a hair dryer if you have one.

if that dosent work then i can't help you

Guitar Hero Guitar with Rock Band disc

It depends on which version of Rock band you are playing, Rock band 1 will not work with Guitar Hero guitars at all, but Rock Band 2 on the wii will except them. and for the microphone you have to have a seperate wiimote sync'd up tho count as the controller for the the game to recognize the mic.

All you need is Wii Speak, no special microphones, to to fix your problem. You can get a good cheap Wii Speak at Wal-Mart.

Where do I plug the mic for Guitar Hero?

Plug the microphone into the USB port on the back of your Wii. You will need a controller for the player using the microphone. Also, as a note, you need a controller for each instrument plugged in. Plug the mic in with machine off, as the microphone will often not be detected if it is hot plugged while the machine is on.

You need to assign a Wii remote to the microphone. Basically, plug in your mic and turn on a spare Wii remote.

Microphone for guitar hero world tour

just asked this same question.
discovered that by removing one of our wii controllers from the drum set that we could use the microphone and the guitar. Guessing that having a 3rd controller would allow for the full band to play together (guitar, drum, and vocals). Thinking that by having 4th controller, we could hook up our other microphone or another guitar.
