Make sure you got same model/type for both of the memory modules.
Also they must have same clock even most of the time you can still install different clocked modules (but both will works at the lowest clock of one of the modules).

But it will not hurt if you try this :

  1. Try to install the first module on your notebook memory slot 1, turn on your notebook and see if the modules can be detected.
  2. Try to install the other module on your notebook memory slot 1, turn on your notebook and see if the modules can be detected.
If your notebook reads both of the modules it means both of your modules are ok and your notebook slot 1 is OK. Repeat the step above in your notebook memory slot 2 to make sure slot 2 is OK too.

Now to eliminate problems, clean up your memory module's copper contact.
Next install both of the modules in each memory slot on your notebook and see if the modules can be detected.
If it's still not works, try to switch the modules position each other in your notebook slot and again turn on the computer to see if it works.

If it's not working then it's most likely that your modules aren't compatible each other.

When cmera card is inserted into SD port can't download images

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

Vaio fz-35g not booting, beeping 3 times. one long, two short. i assume that it is Video Controller Failure or faulty add-on card. dont know what to do it was working fine the day b4. put it to sleep and...

Your computer has memory problems. First check video. If video is working, you'll see an error message. If not, you have a parity error in your first 64K of memory. First check your SIMM's. Reseat them and reboot. If this doesn't do it, the memory chips may be bad. You can try switching the first and second banks memory chips. First banks are the memory banks that your CPU finds its first 64K of base memory in. You'll need to consult your manual to see which bank is first. If all your memory tests good, you probably need to buy another motherboard.

I have a Sony Vaio FX802 with 384 MB ram, split 1 x 256MB and 1 x 128MB across 2 banks. Last week I noticed that I was running on 256MB only so I re-seated the 128MB module and that seemed ok for a time,...

when adding new memory always take all memory out, reinsert the new 256mb stick into the first memory socket dimm1 normally, boot the laptop up, if the laptop boots then fine the memory module is ok, shut down and insert the original 256mb into the second slot, dimm2 then boot the laptop it should now boot normally, if not there maybe problems with the memory slot itself, give it blow to get rid of any dust and try again, if this dosent work post back.

Can i insert my microSD card from my cell phone into my laptop?

It depends on your laptop configuration If the laptop has the microSD reader in it definitely it will read it. If the laptop does not have that reader you have to purchase one multi card reader having the same(microSD card reader). So insert the microSD card in the laptop at concerned card reader location or insert the card in the purchased/collected multi card reader - it will definitely work.

Adding computer memory

The only thing you could do is put in a 256MB module in the slot that you have access to. Only one socket is user upgradable. The second socket is only upgradable by a Dell service center. They would have to install a second 256 module to get you to the 512MB max.

Card reader

Which Windows version are you using 98, ME, XP or Vista?
Try pluging the card reader into another computer (xp or Vista) and if you get the same error message, the card reader could be faulty.

Inspiron 2200 Memory Module not recognised

Are you sure its the correct speed/type of RAM? According to Google your laptop takes PC2700 DDR RAM, ensure you are using this in both slots to avoid problems. If you have it fully inserted into the slot and nothing happens when you swtich it on then the laptop doesnt like that type of RAM and you'll need to change it.

New memory not recognised when installed into spare slot

"Put it in and reboot"... be sure the aptop is OFF when you add memory! Otherwise, you can damage BOTH memory and laptop! Once memory is installed there is no "trick" to get it recognized. If it is good and meets the BIOS specs, it will be recognized and registered after a cold boot.

1. Be sure the memory is inserted properly (both clips on the sides are flush with the half-moon tabs between memory and metal clips).

2. Sometimes on a memory slot that has been empty a long time (and gets a bit corroded) it is a good idea to insert the memory, remove it again and reinsert 5 or 6 times (only) to clean the contacts.

3. If number 1 and 2 have been done, and you still have this error, then there is a problem with the memory:

It may be the wrong speed (PC100 instead of PC133, etc)

It may be too LARGE for the BIOS to use (all laptops have maximum memory per slot specs that must be observed, because the laptop cannot see memory that is greater than its specified capacity.

In any case, check the manual or the website for your laptop, to get the specifications for memory type AND capacity per slot, and TOTAL memory if you have two slots -or memory soldered on board).
