Question about Konica Minolta bizhub C250 All-In-One Laser Printer

1 Answer

How do you change the paper selection?!?

We have about 300 people printing to our c650. Not all of them know how to set their paper settings correctly or what drawer each type of paper is stored in (each drawer remains a constant size).
So, consequently, when people print to the printer, they select the wrong paper tray. Is there a way to guide it to the right paper tray so it can continue printing? I just want to change the tray, but it doesn't seem to let you from the machine (short of deleting the print and angering the person who sent it).

Please help!

Unfortunately, I know to do that, but the other 300 people don't. The issue is that when they don't choose the correct paper size and/or tray I can't change it. On all our other copiers you can "guide" it to the right tray by choosing it from the error screen on the machine. This machine doesn't seem to allow you to pick a different paper tray, even if it has the right paper in it.

I totally agree with the training part. In a perfect world I would definately make all the people here go through a training on the machines. Unfortuately, that's not going to happen here.

We are running off a server and since I don't work in IT I have no control over what goes on at that level. The print driver defalts to auto (at least my computer does) but if your printing from Acrobat and have your settings to "choose paper size by pdf size" or whatever that little check box is, then it gets hairy. There's so many variations that I can't control how they send their stuff. I just want to be able to fix it and continue printing without deleting their print and making them send it again.

If you have a different size/type paper in trays, just choose auto tray from printing preference, you only have to put right paper type /plain/thick ..... and the printer find it self the right tray

OK, how are the users connected to printer, is the printer shared out from server ??? because the default is auto select tray, usually user don't have to choose tray at all, just paper type is required.
if you share it out from server, I'm not sure, but it may be possible lock paper source field.

But better way to manage printing in 300 people company, is to use boxes, create every user a box, and they print in user box and when they come to printer, user open his box, chooses jobs that he still want to print out and prints it out in the correct tray. this also prevents users to waste pointless paper. e.g just print out and forget it in the printer.

still you have to teach them how to print send them a e-mail with pictures, not to choose paper tray, just leave it to auto select. tray choosing is only necessary when printing in bypass tray

    good luck.

One more thing, that you can try, open in web brauser your printer ipaddress (pagescope web connection) log in as admin (12345678) ad choose print tab, there is a field: "action when there is no maching paper in tray" -> choose "switch to tray with correct paper size".
Maybe this will help a little bit. It should switch trays even if wrong tray is selected. I just tryd it.

Probably your paper settings are not correct, or you do not have a sufficient label-paper. Try to select the exact paper type you use. Depending on what choice you make, the paper will go through the printer on a different speed, exactly what is needed to fuse the toner on the substrate. When it is going to fast, there is not enough heat to bond the toner onto the paper and your printout looks weak.

Hello,

This is probably a software settings issue, please check in the application that you use for printing if the default paper size is the correct one (A4 on Letter)
Also check in Control panel, under printers Properties, that the correct paper size is selected.
Try printing again.

Please teach me how to use my HPF4185 to print envelopes. Thanks.

Hi

Use the product software, also known as the printer driver, to change the print settings for your envelope size and type. Then, use the Envelopes and Labels tool in Microsoft Word to select your envelope size.

Step one: Adjust the print settings

-In Microsoft Word, click File , and then click Print .
-Make sure that your product is in the Name drop-down list box, and then click Properties .
-Click the Features tab, or the Paper/Quality tab.
-Select an envelope size from the Size drop-down list.
-If the required paper size is not in the drop-down list, follow these steps to create a custom paper size.
-Select Custom from the drop-down list.
-In the Custom Paper Size dialog box, type a name for the new custom size.
-In the Width and Height boxes, type the dimensions.
-Select the unit of measurement, and then click Save .
-Click OK to close the Custom Paper Size dialog box, and then click OK again to close the Properties dialog box.
NOTE: You must exit the Properties dialog box to apply your changes.
Open the Properties dialog box again, and select the new custom size from the Size drop-down list.
-Select the paper type.
-In the Paper Type or Type is drop down list, click More .
-Click the desired paper type, and then click OK .
-Select the paper source from the Paper Source drop-down list.
-Change any other settings, and then click OK to close the Properties dialog box.

Step two: Set the correct envelope size

-Set the correct envelope size in the Envelopes and Labels dialog box before printing envelopes.
-In Microsoft Word, click Tools , click Letters and Mailings , and then click Envelopes and Labels .
-In the Envelopes and Labels dialog box, click the Envelopes tab.
-Click Options .
-From the Envelope size drop-down list, select the required paper size. If you created a custom paper size, select the new custom paper size from the drop-down list.
-Click OK , and then click Close to close the Envelopes and Labels dialog box.
-Click File , and then click Print to print the envelope.
NOTE: When you finish printing the envelopes, return the paper size and the paper type settings to the defaults.

Printing 4x6 photos on photo paper

Sorry but your question seems to be unclear.
Here are the solutions that I see:
- try fixing the orientation of your paper on the printer:
-- go to printer "properties" then select "paper" then set it to
landscape or portrait. You might just have to cut the extra
papers
- try changing the paper size on the printer "properties" if it has
no 4x6 then choose "custom size"

Duplexing problem on Konica Minolta Bizhub C650

This is a software thing.  Usually if you use the hole punch in the finisher this doesn't happen.
Try putting the paper in the other direction and see if that fixes it.
If it doesn't fix the problem you will have to run one side at a time.
