SOURCE: Williams Heater console floor unit

Is this a floor furnace? If so sounds like the switch for the blower, which is mounted on the side of the fire box is bad. There should be 2 of them, 1 for the blower to start 1 for the blower to stop when the fire box is cooled down. It wouldn't hurt to just replace both of them.

Flame & Piolet going out after a short time of use.

To burn Lp gas there has to be a bigger spud (because of the density). Lp gas also has to be changed to a vapor and not liquid. Having a storage tank in the cold ambient can present problems due to its relative high boiling point.

Pilot is lit ,but when i turn the thremostat on nothing.

Has the control knob been turned from the PILOT position to the ON position?
If that has been done, check the wiring from the thermostat to the Gas Control Valve in the heater. Make sure the wires are connected in both places (T-Stat & Control Valve). If all of that appears to be correct, there's a good chance that the Thermopile (I think Williams calls it a Pilot Generator) has failed. This part generates millivolts of electricity to open and close the gas valve when the Thermostat calls for heat. But, don't confuse the Thermopile with the Thermocouple. Your unit has both. And since the pilot is burning, that tells me it's not a problem with the Thermocouple.

Anyway, the only way to test the thermopile is with a millivolt multimeter. You will have to consult your Owners Manual for the proper millivolt output for your heater.

Hope this helps head you in right direction in solving this problem.

I have a Williams Gas Space Heater Model#3501912. I purchased this furnace about 10 yrs ago. I have noticed that the space heater will not shut itself off. The gas burners are on, but will not shut itself...

I would suspect not. It's very, very rare for a control valve to go bad, unless someone tried to force it to urn with a pair of pliers or something similar.

If you have provided annual service to the heater, it's probably just residual gas remaining in the burners. To test this theory, turn the flames down to low and then turn the burner OFF. Do the burners and the pilot light go out? If it doesn't, you'll be that rare consumer that needs the Control Valve replaced.

Just to help you out a little bit more. I have provided a link to the Owners Manual for your heater. It's in a downloadable, printable, pdf format.

Hope this helps. Please let me know.

How do I adjust the temp on a Williams wall heater model # 1043622?

Found this link to a manual for the Williams Wall Heaters...
Model 1043621.05 is LP Gas Model Model 1043622.05 is Natural Gas Model
http://www.hammerwall.com/Download_Manual/3249/
Temperature is set using a thermostat as explained in the above manual.
Use IE Explorer Browser, manual does not display in Google Chrome as a number of other PDF files don't either, must be a bug.

Want to convert heater from natual gas to lpg are jets available for this conversion.heater model no reh210ec thankyou

Dont know if you can get orvices for that heater but almost all gas appliances can be converted for nat to lp and lp to nat, they made a spud kit which is a blank orvice that you drill out your nat gas orvice to I think a 20 drill side and install the spud in and redrill to size usally a nat-gas orvice is around 8 to 10 sizes larger then a lp.The big thing is the gas valve and if it has a built in regulator or not, some valves can be conferted to open up the regulator pressure by the spring or a block off kit and others are fixed and cant be changed, have to replace valve.most nat-gas are at 3" to7" and lp is at 10".Hope this helps you

I have Wiiliams direct vent wall furnace. I smell gas only when pilot is on and burner is not on. It does not smell when it is fully running (burner is on)

Dear Alex191: I am shocked and amazed that the Williams heater company is STILL knowingly and willingly selling faulty direct vent gas heaters. My problems took place in 1988! I bought a 30,000 BTU Williams DIRECT VENT from The Home Depot. I took the time to remove window sashes and run gas line to the Williams heater that I had placed in the window aperture. I was glad to finally have heat and be able to heat the area of the house where I stayed. Then I began to smell gas when the Williams was OFF. I traced it to the area where the pilot light gas tubing entered the combustion chamber. I removed the Williams unit and replaced it with an identical make and model and the SAME THING HAPPENED!!! I sat on my bed and almost cried. I had the gas company come out and they labled the problem as a "fuzz leak". The warranty repairman came out and had no idea what to do. Tightening the retaining nut did nothing. I called Williams and even back then they said that they were aware of the problem. They called me back and wanted to send me a part and asked me, "Can you work on it?" I returned the Williams and bought a Perfection-Schwank CONSOL heater that burns the air in the room and vents horizontally to a 4 inch vertical gas vent and was very satisfied with it. When they went out of business I bought an "Empire" brand gas heater. I don't know if I'll ever buy another direct vent heater from anyone. I will be glad to write an affidavit should you decide to suit the Williams company.

Furnace flame goes low fan stays on

if the gas pressure is good on inlet and outlet of valve u might wanna chk the burner trays and manifold for flakes, dirt, spider webs ect... once u kno the passages are clear from obstruction you can focus on the mechanical. (sounds like gas valve may be getting weak and not able to open fully)
