Recently my Alpine CDA-9830 has started powering off and on and off again in a never ending cycle. When it stays on it works fine; then suddenly it will switch off and on, staying on for about 1 second, then powers off by itself and back on again. It will do this continuously. My only recourse is to power it off. I cannot determine what triggers it. It does it while moving, while stopped, warm or cold.

- I checked the connections on both the red and yellow wires and all looked fine (wire nuts). I did however trim them back, stripped the insulation and reconnected them. I have not had any problems with it for the past week. I appreciate your feedback on this issue.
check all the power connections it could be that the remote wire is hooked up to somthing falty, try hooking it up with the positive power to see if that fixes the problem, useing this method will require you to have to turn off your stereo manually. the power wire is yellow and is usually thicker and the remote or (ignition) wire is red, just wire them both together. the remote wire is usually connected to the positive end of somthing that turns on when the ignition is on like the cigarette lighter. if thats not the problem it could be that its not getting enough power ether because the power wires going to it are to thin or there isn't a good connection. check the voltage at your battery and at your stereo.

My sub output RCA is not sending a signal to my amplifier. I have an alpine CDA 9831 head unit and I cannot find the function to turn the sub RCA on. Everything is wired correctly, the amplifier is powering up, RCA connection is using high end, low interference wiring, there just appears to be no signal feed. Second amplifier running mid's and highs is recieving signals fine, all speakers connected to that amplifier are running perfectly, it is just the sub's that are not kicking. Could you please explain how I turn that signal feed on?
