There are 2 removable plastic plates on either side of the power entry connector> Pry these off with a knife and remove the 2 screws. Next slide the razor out of it's case. The batteries are soldered in.

Hi,unfortunately there is no way to reset this counter, even after replacing battery it still stands there.Braun somehow prohibits user and/or unauthorized repair men to do such action. If you visit the following link there is a official statement by Braun states that" total number of shaves (cannot be reset)."
I am sorry, this is the fact.

Braun 8995 - YELLOW LIGHT STAYS ON!

I experienced the same symptoms on my 8995; solid yellow light (even though the cartridge was full), cleaning failed (red light on) after pressing either start button. After many failed attempts to clean the razor, unplugging the station and pushing start button, I decided to clean the razor under running water. I rinsed the razor under water and then turned it on allowing it to run in a pool of water (like it would in the station). After water cleaning, I returned the razor to the station, pressed the start button and it worked! Was able to do both the quick clean and auto clean.

I have a braun 5614 razor bought in usa many years ago and now needs new batteries. No one in zimbabwe can help, please tell me how to open razor and change batteries.

There are two round screw covers on the bottom. Pry these out to reveal two screws. Remove screws and then the out case can be slid downward and off. You can then access the batteries

Replacement batteries for model 5614 can be found at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

How to change the batteries

You can purchase the batteries for model 8995 at shaveroutlet.com. See link below. You will need two batteries

http://shaveroutlet.com/shaver-replacement-battery-aa-nimh-p-108.html

To open the shaver you will need to gently pry off the cap on the bottom. This is the piece of plastic that surrounds the hole for the charger. Once removed, the side grips will pull away revealing 4 screws. Remove screws and take off back cover. Then lift out circuit board. For easier replacement, it is sometimes suggested that you use a modified installation technique. This is to break the tabs off of the old batteries rather than unsoldering them from the circuit board. This allows the old batteries to be removed but leaves the tabs attached to the circuit board. You can then solder the tabs from the new batteries to the old existing tabs.
Reassemble in reverse order

The on/off slider is stuck on won't slide to off position

The trimmer/switch is broken. You will need to replace it. You will find the components that you require at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

http://shaveroutlet.com/braun-8995-8595-and-8795-body-housing-with-trimmer-p-684.html

To replace the part you will need to remove the 'cap' that surrounds the cord hole on the bottom of the shaver by gently prying it off with a small flat screwdriver or similar object. Once removed, the side grips will easily pull off revealing 4 screws. Remove screws to seperate the front and back case. The inner parts simply lift out and you can put them into the new case
