Question about Samsung Televison & Video
Hello everyone newbie here so please be patient.
I have purchased a Samsung LCD TV LE40N8 and have connected it to Samsung AV - R720 unit via HDMI from HDMI out socket to HDMI1 socket on the TV.
I have V+box (in HDMI 2 - satellite) on the back of my AV unit and also PS3 connected via (HDMI 1 DVD socket) to the AV unit.
All the HDMI are the latest Cambridge Audio and have been tested on other equipment>>>
OK so now for my problem. When I turn on my PS3 select the output from my AV unit to DVD the AV unit selects and picks up the PS3 output but I get a blue screen and a message-saying mode not supported. To solve this I have to put the TV on stand by and then back on for it to pick up the signal.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this might be and any idea how to solve this problem as it is getting on my t**s now.
Thanks in advance

OK try to connect all to tv and from tv connect the sound in digital to H/K receiver and you will have sound at the receiver no matter what.

ok your tv does not come with the very best sound, you have to get a receiver 7.1 or you can use the optical wire , that's if the system you are using has that option.

First of all, check that the TV is set on PC input when you use PC video input at the back.
Then you may also need to go to video and display properties>>settings, from control panel (personalize on Vista).
There lower down resolution and ensure that frequency is set the same as tv.

1. Turn ON TV
2. Connect PS3 to TV HDMI input
3. select TV HDMI input for PS3
4. turn OFF PS3 if it is ON
5. Press and hold the [I/O]Power button until the PS3 until you get the "HDMI Detected" message.
Also, this TV has a circuit that deactivates the HDMI if the rear cover is removed. It is possible the HDMI may have been turned OFF. This is reset in the service menu of the TV.

In order to get any of the Freesat channels, you need to connect a Satellite dish to your TV. If you have a Sky dish, you simply need to run an extra Cable from the LNB from the dish and connect to your socket on the back of your TV.
In order to get Freeview channels and Analogue channels, you need to connect a aerial to the back of the TV.
There is a menu option for the TV to start straight to the AV input (your Sky HD box). It is Menu > Setup > Other Settings > Power on Preference. Select 'AV' for your TV to start on Sky HD.
Also even if you have your TV to start on TV, when you turn on your Sky HD box, it should automatically switch to the Sky box.
