Question about Epson Stylus C46 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Not registering print request

Hi. I have just changed my 2 ink cartridges but when I request a print its doesnt seem to register on the printer as nothing happens. Red and green light constantly on, the C46 shows as my default printer but the print just seems to sit in a q without the printer registering as there doesnt seem to be any movement.

Many Thanks

My ink cartridges are full but when I print something it does not print blue or green. What can I do?

Assuming you've recently changed your ink cartridges the first thing you can try is seeing if you've placed the cartridges properly (did you remove all the plastic covering the cartridge so the ink can flow into the printer?)

If you haven't actually changed your cartridges in a while the printer might be registering the wrong ink levels. This will result in your cartridges not being as full as you think.

Another thing you could try is checking the printer head for anything that's keeping the ink from flowing. By printer head I mean the thingy that houses your ink cartridges. Perhaps there's some old dried up ink blocking the way?

I have refilled the ink in my hp74 cartridge and it does not register as full on the printer. It also, does not print anything?? Barely ledgable when it does...very very light.

Your refilled hp 74 will not register as full after you do a refill.
You will have to remove some ink out of the ink cartridge.
There is a special clip that can be purchase to do this.
You could just leave the cartridge in overnight for the ink to reach the bottom.
The ink cartridge will then be able to print.

Ink cartridge light keeps blinking

you need to print only in black if that is all the ink you have, and also you need to remove the color cartridge as it still registers in the printer as able to be used, although it is empty or near so. Did you remove the tape over the print head fron the new ink cartridge? Do a print head alignment, or use the toolbox icon to tell the printer that you just replaced the cartridge. Some HP models chip the ink cartridges so even a refill wont register as a full tank and the printer wont print. chip needs to be reset (difficult) or just replaced with a new cartridge.

Just replaced my black and color cartridges with new lexmark...

Hi tfonts,

This is normal behavior for proprietary print devices if you have not provided them with a new print cartridge and have instead filled them yourself.
