Can't print - F470

Hello,

My disk to load into my computer to print pictures has been destroyed. Can I download another copy from your website? If not, can you tell me where I can purchase the disk so that I may start printing my pictures again.

Thanks!

You don't need any software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

The camera does not do exactly what you want. You can print the date & time using the Digital Print Order Format as described on page 52 of the manual (link below): http://www.fujifilmusa.com/JSP/fuji/epartners/bin/FinePix_F470_Manual.pdf I don't see any way of having the data & time appear on the images stored on the PC or camera. How do i put a date stamp on pictures that i take.Use dto be able to do it but cant find the manual to enable the date stamp

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

You may download a copy of the manual here.

 Downloading stored images
You can download the still images stored on the camera to your PC's
hard disk and print them or use a photo editing software to edit them.
1. Connect the camera to your PC with the USB cable.
2. On your computer's desktop display,
select [My computer] and double
click [Removable Disk DCIM
100SSCAM].The image files will then
be displayed.
3. Select an image and press the right
mouse button.
4. A pop-up menu will open.
Click the [Cut] or [Copy] menu.
- [Cut] : cuts a selected file.
- [Copy] : copies files.
5. Click a folder where you want to paste the file.
6. Press the right mouse button and a
pop-up menu will open.
Click [Paste].
7. An image file is transferred from the
camera to your PC.

Can't access pictures or turn on camera

Hello, if the batteries where not fully charged when you where copying pictures to PC, the camera may have corrupted the pictures on the xD card. That is why the camera is showig a grey picture and turning off, it can't work without a valid picture card. A vey good way to restore the pictures on the card is to buy a card reader (they are unexpensive) that can handle xD cards and use a picture restore software.

For the restoration proccess, read the following page:

http://techblissonline.com/photo-recovery-deleted-pictures-corrupted-images/

Maybe you don't need to buy a card reader if your camera is recognized as a disk drive by the computer but I strongly recommend a card reader for future picture downloading to PC.

After recovering your pictures, you have to format your card in order to use it again in camera.

Good luck!
