Browser running slow in cisnet pentium 4 processer

I have tons of memory (50 G free space) and have upped the RAM allowances and run degrag. It is still very slow and won't let me run more than one thing at a time, or more than one tab on my browser.

I performed a clean install. I still have the same problem. I think I need to purchase and install more RAM. I only have 192 mb currently.

May 25th my CISnet computer would not start Windows, a file was missing. I did not have my Windows CD so I let the CISnet do the Restore. Can I undo the change after my CISnet computer restore to original...

Try the following;

1. Press "Start" on your Cisnet computer's desktop screen. Scroll up to "Accessories," then hover over "System Tools." Click on "System Restore."

2. Click the option that allows you to select a different restore point, rather than using the default restore point. The program will display a calendar.

3. Select a specific point to restore your Cisnet computer to by choosing a date from the calendar display. Click the "Next" button to confirm, then click "Finish" to close out system restore. Your Cisnet computer will restart and open with the selected settings.

Be sure that you do not unplug your Cisnet computer while running system restore because it will need sufficient battery life to complete the program.

System running very slow. Please help.

Usually when systems run very slow it is as a result of tons of underground processes which are not authorised by the user. Easiest way out try to uninstall all the applications on your PC which are not in use. This should ease up space on the unit.
Also you can reduce renove certain startup programs which are not needed.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Hello,

As far as cleaning up the operating system, it sounds like you have already done mostly everything. I do have a completely free program that would take care of the last two things, system junk files, and registry errors.

Other than that, the one thing which would help the most is adding more memory to your PC. Would not cost much and is the easiest piece of hardware to install. Takes less than 5 minutes to do.

Thank you for choosing Fixya.

Nba 2k10 is really slow on my computer, i just got the game and its the biggest thing i have on my computer probably. i have tons of space left, why is it so slow when i go into quick games?

Its not really a question of hardrive space. Its of RAM and graphics card memory. Your computer has 3 gigs of ram and the game requires one however if you have other things running while your playing they will also take up ram and when all the ram is being used the computer will run slowly. Try not to have anything running while you play the game and see if that helps.

If its still slow it could be because of video memory. Try to play in low graphics detail which will make it easier for the computer to "process"

Hope this helps.

Compaq Presario S4300CL PC Desktop is SLOW.

You said you have 512K of RAM; I assume you mean 512MB. Either way, you are in dire need of a RAM upgrade. The sweet spot for XP memory-wise was 2gigs. The working minimum is 512MB, but the recommended spec is at least 1. If you upgraded to at least 2 gigs of ram, you'll see a speed improvement.
If you need help finding out what type of memory to get, let me know.

Too slow

the only way to improve graphics is to upgrade your graphics card and ensure that you have enough system memory and proccesor power to run the game as it should do. If you have a 32MB or 64MB card then maybe you should go for atleast 128MB
