Question about Computers & Internet

When i turn on my laptop, it will say there was a problem starting windows and then asks me to choose either safe mode, safe mode with networking, last know configuration, or start windows xp normally. When i click on any of these options the the windows iqon comes up, am then waiting then for the blue screen to come up, but it just goes all the way back to start of asking for me to choose a start up option again. it will keep repeating this.

i don't think i can back up any of my files, as i can't even get to the stage of trying to back them up. I can't get pass the Start up screen, that say windows has occured a problem in starting up and then offers me the safe mode or last known configuration etc etc to use to start up.

Does this mean i will have to re-boot the laptop?

Is there any other solutions that might help me to get into my computer to solve problem? I had previous changed my settings to allow activX to run on my computer, would this have caused the problem?

Good day.
Usually that problem occur when their was changes made in your laptop maybe settings, or defualt setting before the computer was restarted, that makes the windows react that way or maybe virus infect your laptop. Some problem can be solve in safe mode, but since safe mode cannot be fixed, I think you have to re-install the program, but you have to back-up first all your important files before you fixed it.
Thank you.

    Good day.

If the activeX setting was the last program that you change before that problem occur, and you did not install or download any program, maybe thats the cause and not a computer virus. If you know DOS command try to open the safe mode with command prompt, this is a DOS base command where computer programmer do, to back files and transfer your file to the partition of your hardisk if your hardisk was partitioned. If ever you cannot access, the safe mode with command prompt, for you to back-up your files, is to have your hardisk be slave from other laptop or pc and have it open and back it up.

    Thank you.

Have you tried starting in safe mode to see if it will boot that way? In case your not sure how turn the computer off then when off hit power on and just start pressing F8 over and over until you get the black screen asking about safe mode. You might hear some beeping while doing it dont worry about that. Choose start in safe mode with networking.Quick question is there any reason the lapshows the screen of windows starting vertically like that instead of the normal horizontal way from left to right? Just curious if you did that or thats new too.

To start your computer normally you must choose either of that options but the only thing you must choose is the start windows normally so that all the settings from the previous working settings will be applied in your windows start up.

This may be due to faulty/corrupt system files. If you have windows installation disk with you, boot from it. Do a start up repair using the tool in it. This will fix the startup problem. If you want full guidance, comment me which windows you are using.

Ok, well try this, Startup PC, press F8 at instant of turn on... choose Safe Mode. when you are asked if you want safe desktop or system restore choose restore, when you get to the restore menu, choose a date BEFORE you had problems there may only be one or two to choose from. just follow the instructions and you should be back to working with all that behind you.

Windows will not start up

choose start windows in Safe mode, if it starts then everything will look big, don't worry about that for now. Then go to Start>accessories>system Tools>system restore and choose a date when you know that everything was working normally, when it has finished restoring the computer will restart. If asked choose start windows normally.

I hope this helps

Compac presario R3000 problem

That screen is normal but only shows on certain occasions. Just use your arrow keys to highlight "Start Windows Normally" and press enter and you will continue to the blue sign in screen. If the removal software asks you start Windows in "Safe Mode", then restart the computer and select "Safe Mode with Networking".

Most common method for receiving that screen and those options is pressing a specific key during start-up for additional start-up methods. Another reason which may be the reason for your case is that something went wrong during start-up. Just follow the instructions above and it will be fine. Usually the reason why you are asked to choose is shown at the top of the screen and it will tell what the problem is.

Laptop won't comeback on

Try safe mode.

On safe mode return the computer to an earlier date configuration.

At some point will ask if you want to do that. And say yes.

Make sure that if for some some reasons it asks you to restore the computer to factory settings, you should say no. I hope you can do this.
