SOURCE: Problem with USB port on Asus P5KPL-AM SE Motherboard

Older motherboards have USB 1.1 ports;
newer motherboards have USB 2.0 ports,
which are over 10 times as fast.

It is Windows (not your motherboard) that should do the "Plug-and-Play" thing for devices connected to your USB port(s).

Note that some devices are USB 2.0, and will *NOT* work when plugged-in to a USB 1.1 port.

Either get a newer motherboard, or get a PCI add-on card that adds USB 2.0 ports.

Have blink 4 times

Hi , your mainboard uses AMI bios , "4 LED blinks" during POST appears to be a system memory related issue, some installation or compatibility.
If the display is viewable I suggest run a self booting system memory test to test installed ram memory

Hello here is the homepage:

Try to renew the power supply.

Try also to add a graphic card, on the mainboard instead useing the onboard graphic.

My mother board on desktop is P5KPL-AM SE it is not detecting hard disk after installing windows on new hard disk it goes on repeatedly rebooting never shows windows if i tweek bios setup the windows...

check you bios setting
1st boot should be your hard disk if your hard disk model is not shown in the selection then select HDD-0 as your first boot this will solve your problem

this solution only works if your hard **** is detected during POST if not detected check the power connector and SATA or IDE cable of your Hard Disk

the beeps are post during post the very first work is done by the ram,all the memory in the ram is first transferred to the hard disk, and remains active untill turned off.
make sure that your RAM is securely seated
test or replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive make sure the connections are secure including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA the ones that attach from your
((motherboard to hard drive))
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?

I updated the bios of my ASUS P5KPL-AM SE motherboard. after the update, the system restarted and it cannot boot anymore!! the CPU fan turns on but nothing is displayed on the monitor.. how do i fix this?...

your bios driver is likely to be faulty.
so download a valid driver then update your bios again.
if it doesn't work, intercept all of cables of your PC case and even power cable of your monitor.
evolve battery of bios then wait for 15 minutes then connect all of cables and try turning on your pc:
1- with battrey of bios
2- without battery of bios
it should work.
