Put your finger over the button near the upper left corner of the keyboard, just below the display, marked "WINDOW" and apply gentle pressure. Above the key note the two marks "TBLSET" and "F2".

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: ti 84 not working

Hello,
Since it gets tossed around a lot, it is possible though improbable that the batteries lose contacts with the electrical terminals.
You may try to darken the screen a bit.
1. Press [2nd] key and release it
2. Press [UpArrow] and release it.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 in sequence until contrast is satisfactory.

If that does not fix the problem, use a calc-to-calc cable and try sending something to it from a working calculator.

You can also download the TIConnect software from education.ti.com and install it on your computer. Then connect the calculator to the computer by means of a USB cable, a TISilverCable, or a TI Graphlink (Black cable). Turn the calculator ON, run TIConnect, connect calc-to-computer and Click TIDEVICEINFO in TIconnect main window.

If it tells you NOT FOUND, on any of the ports, click the communication settings: Set the device type to you calculator model. Set the cable type. Set the port (COM x) or USB1
If calculator is not detected through any of the available ports (COM ports, or USB), then it would suggest that calculator is in need of repairs.

Hope it helps.

SOURCE: Not Graphing

You're probably trying to graph a function that does not involve stat plot features. You can correct this by turning off the stat plot features. Press "2ND" "STAT PLOT" and then select 4:PlotsOff.

If that's not it, post a comment and we'll go from there.

Cant find ! button

There is no such thing as a TI89 Plus Silver Edition.

If you mean the TI-89 or TI-89 Titanium, press diamond / (the diamond key below the 2ND key, then the divide key).

If you mean the TI-83 Plus Silver Edition or the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition, press MATH left-arrow 4 .

How to update older ti-84 plus

The function keys originally have twp functions: One function accessed by pressing a function key directly, the other by first pressing the 2nd key then the function key.
With the newer operating systems, there is a third function associated with the function keys F1.F2,F3 and F4, but not F5 nor F6. This third function is revealed after you press the ALPHA key.

I have a TI-84 calculator. I can't figure out the exact buttons to press to find the sec of -1.2. It is supposed to be an answer in degrees.

First, check if the calculator is in degrees. Do this by pressing mode and selecting degrees (it should be about the third option down)

The TI-84 doesn't have a dedicated button for secant so you will just have to enter it as 1/cos(-1.2) or cos(-1.2)^-1
