Question about Compaq Computers & Internet
From Microsoft Support Forum:
I would suggest you to refer to the Microsoft article provided below and use the "FIX IT" provided in the link on your computer for resolution -http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950505
If the issue persists, then the default program setting for the ".exe" to open must have got changed. So I would suggest you to reset the setting for default program.
You may refer to the below mentioned link to set the default program to open with a particular file type -http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Change-which-programs-Windows-uses-by-default
Hope this helps. Let us know the results.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

The msvcr80.dll is required for the software developed under microsoft C++. And if the microsoft visual C++ is not installed on that machine this raise error.
It sounds you are facing same problem, if then downlaod microsoft visual C++ redistributable package and install it on your machine. I think it will fix your problem.

I am of the mind to do a complete reinstall of the operating system including flash the BIOS even if it is the same version. I worked many hours tracking down and thinking you found every part of the problem on to hit an .EXE and it all starts over again....I just clean out everything and start fresh.
If you tell us what make and model of computer along with the operating system it is we can direct you to the drivers for the reinstall. Some off those programs - for example AOL seem to be virus magnets. (if it is a dell it is really simple if you just put in your service code- it give you your particular driver of your computer.)
That is what I would do...Or you can keep hunting.
please leave rating,,,thank you

Have you tried to start the system in safe mode? F6 I think, then start in safe mode with network. then try to start your norton AV again and try to do a liveupdate, then scan your system and see if it works.. otherwise just uninstall norton, then reinstall it and run live update again and scan your system. My thought is that you have a serious virus on your sysstem.. best thing I can say is WHEN you get your antivirus to work again make a habit of scanning every file you download and from whatever site you dl from.. do NOT believe it when a window pops up and says you need to update your antivirus software.. ONLY use the liveupdate. Another POSSIBLE fix is to use the RESTORE option and try to restore to a point BEFORE you started noticing problems with your antivirus

SOURCE: Cannot find shooter.exe
Sounds like a Malware message. Boot your computer to the desktop, or if you are unable, boot to Safe Mode (F8). Download, install and run MalwareBytes (MalwareBytes.com). Hope that helps.
