Motor rotates in wrong direction and resets in wrong position

There is micro switches on the gear wheel, the motor will move forward and hit a micro switch to stop to brew and then back to hit a switch to stop at park, it is not finding one of the positions so keeps turning, ohm to test switches or replace both

Coffeemaker on/off switch works intermittently. How do I remove the front panel to access the controls?

I have a Cuisinart coffee pot also and am encountering the same problem. There's nothing wrong with the brewing element, etc., but increasingly often, nothing happens when I turn the switch on. At times, if I leave it alone, it will come on--sometimes an hour or more after I switched it on. At others, if I keep trying, it eventually switches on.

My best guess is that the on-off switch is worn out or has corrosion/dirt on the terminals. I, too, am trying to figure out how to disassemble the unit. Once I do, I will post details here, along with what I find inside and whether I was able to repair it.

Good to know I am not alone. This must be a quirk of Cuisinart's coffee pots.

Oven will not heatup

  1. Make sure the controls are set properly: that the oven selector switch is set correctly and that the temperature switch is set to the desired temperature. Where applicable, make sure the oven timer is set to manual.
  2. If nothing else on the Range, Oven or Cooktop is working then Check the fuse
  3. Test the oven elements
  4. Test the oven thermostat
  5. Test the oven selector switch.
  • Check timer and clock settings
  • Reseat the element
  • Test the element
  • Test the element connectors
  • Test the oven temperature control
  • Test the oven selector control

Both heating elements in the oven not working. I did inspect the h. elements found no burn. thankyou help

Ok, you can confirm element failuer by testing for continuity with a Ohm meter. A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

You can usually tell when the element itself burns out. It might have small holes or bubbles on the coil. Replace the element, if found defective.

Another reason, why the elements would not start, might be a defective infinite switch (located behind the control panel, with the burner knob on its shaft). Replace the switch if found defective.

If the elements show continuity, you will need to replace the entire control board(clock, EOC)..

Continually running/heating

Coffeemakers have two heating elements: a brew element and a keep-warm element. When the water reservoir has run empty, a thermostat switches power from the brew element to the keep-warm element.

The keep-warm element will cause the thermostat to stay in this condition until more water is added [or power is cut off] which will cool it down to switch back.

However, if the keep-warm element has quit working, the thermostat may be reactivating the brew element. With no water in the reservoir, the brew element will heat up till the thermostat trips again, then cool down, etc. This cycle will repeat until power is switched off.

I have a problem wih me coffee maker

While bikeman's fix was helpful and sure enough got the coffee maker to brew me one last pot of coffee it was also a sure FIRE method for creating a counter top electrical fire!
I followed the solution's directions to the letter and when the pot of coffee was finished brewing the heating element did of course keep heating to the point of bursting into a small electrical fire and melting plastic to my counter top.
I pushed the off button and unplugged the coffee maker and brought it outdoors to cool off before discarding.
While it is a solution it is a VERY DANGEROUS SOLUTION!
I would suggest that anyone who does not have the $20 to replace their broken coffee maker to either buy a replacement over heat sensor or get their brew from a nearby Deli!
Seriously folks this repair is clearly asking for a house fire!
If one were to maybe shut off the maker instantly after a pot was made
