There are no parts for this model. Try E-Bay for a reasonable replacement.

Foam is falling out & sticky in my minolta x700

This is light seal material that keeps the film chamber light tight to prevent contamination of the film. If this is bad, chances are the camera itself will need some servicing. The light meter and shutter speeds need to be calibrated as well as the lubricants changed in the cameras various mechanisms. This can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

I cant find the correct size film for this camera i bought it at a yard sale

The Konica Minolta Maxxum QTsi is a nice SLR camera that can accept a wide range of 35mm films. You can buy 35mm films from Kodak, Fujifilm and many other companies.

Can u use the lenses of minolta slr camera with any other digital camera body today and if yes then models may be suggested

If you have manual focus Minolta lenses, then they are not usable on anything other than other manual focus M35mm Minolta SLR's.

If they have the Minolta autofocus mount then they will physically fit onto any of the current range of Sony Alpha SLR's and also the discontinued Konica Minolta digital SLR's, but there will be some issues:-
  • there will be a 1.5x magnification factor due to picture cropping caused by the digital image sensor being smaller than a 35mm film frame. As an example, a 70-200mm zoom lens will produce an image equivalent to that of a 105-300mm lens if mounted on a 35mm camera. Lens apertures are not affected by the 1.5 crop factor.
  • Earlier Minolta AF lenses relied on the camera body providing the autofocus motor. Later Konica-Minolta and Sony models lack this motor so the lens can only be used in manual focus mode.
  • If you have a later SSM (SuperSonic Motor) equipped lens and want to use it on an Minolta Alpha/Maxxum/Dynax 9 (different model names in different countries), the camera needs a complete additional circuit board which is no longer available.
  • Later Sony Alpha SLR's have far greater electronic communication with the lenses used. Many Minolta lenses will not be compatible and as Sony don't support legacy products there is no fix.
In short, Minolta MD lenses (manual focus) can't practically be used on any modern digital cameras, and Minolta Alpha (autofocus) lenses will physically fit onto a Sony Alpha digital SLR, but will act as if magnified and may not autofocus or work at all on a Sony SLR. But there's no harm in trying.

Sorry there is no absolutely definitive answer for you, but I hope that you now understand why and that you take a moment to rate my reply.

I have a minolta SLR film camera that all of a sudden is only taking half of the picture. the top half of the picture is there but the bottom half is completely black. happened on two roles of film now. ...

You haven't stated the exact model, but some SLR's have horizontally operating shutters and others use a vertically operating shutter. What you've described is a fault with a vertical shutter.

It's not a DIY fix, but regardless of your Minolta model it's not cost effective to get a professional repair. The fault is either a failed shutter assembly which must be replaced (will be either difficult or impossible to obtain a complete spare, but as most verticals were made by Seiko it's sometimes possible to adapt one intended for another make/model) or your fault will be due to dried-out, gummed up, lubricant films which need to be cleaned of and replaced (a CLA service = Clean, Lubricate, Adjust).

Given that many film SLR's and most other film cameras are now virtually worthless, it may not seem sensible to invest in a CLA. But a freshly serviced model should be good for many more years of service providing nothing breaks or wears out. By contrast, digital models cost hundreds/thousands of dollars and very few are still in working order after six years.

You may be better off to source a known functional SLR (I've had plenty from FreeCycle/Freegle) and then have that CLA'd instead.

How to open filnm compartment of old 35mm nikon

Is it an SLR model?

I am not familiar with Nikons; however, Minolta and Canon SLR film camera's film compartments are opened by lifting up on the film rewind mechanism on the top left side of the camera.

If the Nikons are designed like Minolta and Canon, there will be a small tab to push in at the bottom of the camera. This releases the film and allows it to be rewound. At the top left will be a small rewind lever that is used to do the rewind. The part of the camera that the rewind lever is attached to is pulled up to open the back of the camera.

Light meter stopped working and shutter stopped firing

about the only thing you can do other than take or send your camera to a repair shop is to remove the batteries and clean the cap and contacts with a pencil eraser be careful not to damage the contact. also move the on/off switch and select knob back and forth a few times to clean the contacts. i would get a repair estimate first as there are no new parts available for this camera.

35mm Minolta camera has shudder issues

Depending on what model Minolta this is. Goggle camera repairing and see whats out there for your model camera. Some have a focal plane shutter which is worth repairing. The rest are not worth it. Focal plane shutters are made of rubberized cloth
