My problem is similar. It occured when the paper had been "knocked" off dead straight, and was pulled in at an angle, and its was only when printing that I noticed it was being pulled in all scrunched up. I stopped the printer, got out the debris, and now when it tries to print, it wont "engage" and pick up the paper and pull into the machine.

If I get the new part (bent sensor), is it an easy job to fix? sounds like you need to start taking the printer apart?

    cheers

    Hi,

I have the same problem. It says that paper is jammed..bla bla...
I took it to a service and They told me I have to change the head and it costs 250 euros which is more than my MP600. Do you think if i change the sensor arm and plate it is going to be fine? Should i tell them to change it to see if it is fine? I dont want to throw this one away and get a new one. It is only 1,5 years old... What do you suggest to me?

    Thanks...

Yup you bent the sensor arm, my suggestion is to take it to an authorized center as its a very difficulkt job for the unexperienced.

My Canon Pixma MP600R insists that paper is jamed in machine, despite the fact that jam has been cleared and paper is being ejected when machine is switched on

The simplest thing would be to try unplugging the printer from the power source. Let it rest for 5 - 10 minutes then plug back in to the power supply and see if that resolves the problem.

If not you are going to need to do a thorugh inspection to verify that all paper remnants have been removed.

The following is for the MP600:

Issue: ERROR LCD: The paper is jammed. Clear the paper and press [OK].
Solution: Removing paper jams MP600

Clearing credit card-sized paper jammed inside the printer
Credit card-sized and 4" x 6" sized paper must be loaded properly. If this media is not loaded properly, it will feed into the printer and will not exit. Credit card-sized paper should only be loaded in the ASF and in portrait orientation. 4" x 6" sized paper can be loaded in the ASF or cassette. But must be loaded portrait orientation.
If credit card-sized paper was loaded in landscape orientation in the ASF and did not eject (exit), please follow this procedure.

  1. Turn off the printer.

  2. Load the same paper type that is jammed inside the printer in portrait orientation.

    05sj00147_01.jpg

  3. Power on the printer.
The paper stock in the ASF will automatically feed the jammed paper from the printer.

  4. To resume printing, load the paper in portrait orientation.

If 4" x 6" sized paper was loaded in landscape orientation in the cassette and did not eject (exit), please follow this procedure.
  1. Turn off the printer.

  2. Open the rear cover.

  3. Fold in four a piece of letter-sized plain paper.

  4. Push in the folded paper until it hits the jammed paper.

    05sj00147_02.jpg

  5. If the jammed paper is visible from inside the printer area, pull it out and proceed to step 7.

  6. If the jammed paper cannot be pulled out, push in the folder paper from the rear so the jammed paper is in between the feed rollers.

  7. Pull out the folded paper and close the rear cover.

  8. Power on the printer and confirm that the Alarm light is off.
The jammed paper should automatically eject.

  9. To resume printing, load the paper in portrait orientation.
