Transferring dvds to sansa e280

I am not able to convert movies using the media converter. They show up on my sansa, but say that they need to be converted. The media converter says that the file is not supported yet the file is supported on the list. I cannot believe it should be this hard to put a movie on this player.

Just get another converter like anyvideoconverter then just put the converted file in the sansa converter or just convet the movie to mp4 using the anyvideoconveter

My sansa media converter did not detect my sansa e280

Set the device to MSC mode (default is Auto) in the USB properties on the Sansa device. This worked for me with a Sansa Fuze on Windows XP running Sansa Media Converter 1.0. Hope this helps.

Tranfering video to device through video software

The Media Converter software will only recognize certain video types for conversion.
p.20 of manual:
Sansa Media Converter software lets you convert photos and videos as appropriate,
and then transfer them to your Sansa player. Sansa Media Converter offers
features such as cropping, rotating, and resizing before transferring them to your
player as well as the ability to transfer photo and video files to your microSD card.
Refer to the Sansa Media Converter software for file formats supported.
To transfer photos and videos to your Sansa player, follow these steps:
1. Connect the Sansa player to your computer.
2. Select Converter using Sansa Media Converter on initial connection.
3. Click Add Media to select photo or video files to be converted.
4. The Sansa Media Converter will store all converted files in My Album. Click
the Album Name box and type in the name you want.
5. Click to start the conversion process. A status box will appear
showing which file(s) are being converted.

you can copy from the my computer open the my computer - open ur device - copy ur images but i am not sure about the videos sorry !!!!

Rip the dvd's to your computer using a dvd-r drive, use the converter on the installation cd thats included and convert them to the right format, locate your file and drag it into your mp3's correct folder [My Computer]
