SOURCE: I'm trying to connect apple

Invalid format means that the signal coming from the Apple tv is in a format your tv can't support - there is nothing you can do in the tv to fix that: the tv searches thru all the formats it can display automatically, if it can't recognize it it gives that message. You will have to connect the Apple TV to the tv set using the analogue connectors - the round, colored RCA ones - they send an signal that is recognized by all tv's.
If your unit is the newer model, without the RCA ones, then you must change the resolution: from the manual
1 Press and hold both MENU and + on the Apple Remote for about 6 seconds.
2 Press + or - on the Apple Remote to cycle through the display resolutions.
3 When Apple TV reaches an acceptable display resolution and "If you can see the Apple
logo, select OK" appears on your TV screen, press PLAY.

Have wireless internet need to connect tv to hp laptop

If its portability and convenience you're wanting to achieve you can connect your tv to your laptop via a hdmi or vga pc to tv device such as the one below.

wireless-internet-need-connect-tv-hp-h3kz2pmtsa0m5tqtbi05zsqk-5-0_1.jpg Or you could set your close lid settings to "do nothing" when lid is closed" and set it to "never sleep" when connected to AC power and use either an hdmi cable or male vga to male vga cable to connect to your tv. You will need a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse because u will no longer need to physically access your laptop. Make sure your tv input selection is correct. For example, hdmi 1, computer, vga, and etc.

Hi,

You have to enable extended display on your laptop. To do this, look for the "function" or "FN" key on your laptop keyboard - hold this down while pressing once on the key that looks like a monitor/screen on the keyboard.

Dell insperon 1525 no sound or picture to tv with new hdmi cable connected , it worked fine yesterday but now i can get nothing , it doesnt even show on the tv that the laptop is connected to the tv

When you connect the laptop to the tv with the HDMI cable you will need to press function and F1/F2 depending on your keyboard layout. It is the key with 2 screens on it.
Once you press that windows will show you options for changing displays like Duplicate, Extend, Monitor, Projector(in this case Projector is the TV)
And for audio, you will need to right click on the volume mixer in the system tray and say playback devices. Click on the hdmi one and say set as default.
When this is done, everytime you plug in the HDMI to the TV it will automatically play audio from the TV.

One possibility is that you don't have your TV set to the right input, check to make sure that your TV is on HDMI 1 (or whichever channel your laptop is plugged into). If that doesn't fix your issue, go system preferences > displays and then from there you can assign the TV as a mirror of your desktop or a second monitor.
