Question about Weller Standard Tip: 7200
I bought this unit used at a 2nd hand shop, it heats, but takes forever to melt solder, I am using regular plumbers soft solder, with flux, which works great with my other soldering irons, but this unit takes forever and barely works with a few stands of wire and a thin contact.

Try tightening the screws that hold the copper element, light corrsion can develop and make a resistance. This can cause the gun to over heat.
