If there's no obvious removable cover over the bulb (most often on the rear or side) and the owner's manual doesn't address it, then disassembly will be required.

You'll need to remove the outer cover (wrapper) to get to the bulb.

Always unplug a microwave before removing or installing any bulbs.

If it's an over the range type, remove the vent grille across the top and see if bulbs can be accessed there. There may be a panel on the bottom covering the light(s), instead.

If not, chances are you'll have to remove it from the wall, then remove the outer cover. If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

If you don't have your instructions, please reply back with your brand and model number.

Once it's out of the wall, the outer cover (wrapper) will need to be removed, just as you'll need to do on a counter top model.

On a counter top model, be sure it's unplugged, but otherwise ignore the instructions above this paragraph.

You'll need to remove the outer cover (wrapper) to get to the bulb.

See these links before proceeding:

http://www.microwavedisplay.com/disassembly.txt

The screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, but a special driver (such as a T20H type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.

Be sure to put all the screws back in the right holes, since some may be special grounding screws.

Bulbs can be had locally in most grocery stores, hardware stores, home improvement centers, and big box or department stores.

Many models use halogen lamps. You must not touch halogen types with your bare skin, as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

It may be that the door interlock system has not worked properly, and blown an Internal fuse inside the case.
Did you slam the Microwave door when you last used it? This is a common cause of the fuse blowing.
As it is still new, I suggest that you contact your supplier, or local service agent to carry out the neccesary repair, probably for FREE. :)
I hope this helps?

Set my microwave there is no light at all

When you say there is no light at all, do you mean that there is no light where the time comes up or that there is no light coming on even when you open the door? If you have no power at all, no light when you open the door and no timer numbers, you probably have a blown fuse. If that is the case, unplug your microwave and turn it around and remove the screws holding cover on and then remove the cover. Look for where the power cord goes into the back of the unit and follow the black wire from the cord to where it ends. It should stop an either a circuit board or a fuse holder. Make sure that you replace the fuse with the same amperage fuse as what you take out. You will find the amp rating stamped on one of the silver collars on each end of the fuse. Good luck!

Hello Mary

You shouldn't be working on, or inside a microwave oven. They are not a consumer repair job due to the debilitating effects of microwave energy, the high voltages inside the capacitor, and the highly poisonous core to the magnetron.

Fuses blow for a reason, you have to find the reason before replacing the fuse. Unless you are an electrical engineer, take it to an authorised repair centre, or just buy a new one.

Nothing turns on. replaced blown fuse.still nothing!

it could be a thermal fuse inside the unit or the thermal cutout on the mag tube isn't closing again after overheating, or possibly the triac or main power relay
