SOURCE: VHF channels come in however UHF channels are not

uhf and vhf tuning is performed in one board(tuner brd) there are some on line part stores that can help you with the number and price, you'll need to provide the model number. partstore.com is one of them, but there are more.good luck.

Please, TV SONY KD28DL11U England standart.Varianty go to the Eastern European standard: VHF, UHF.What to do(make)? Thanks

The U is for UK and it is not practical to replace the sound/vision IF and Tuner unit for VHF as AM sound detection will also be required.
Buy a multistandard set out there, they are quite cheap!

What do I need that I can get local TV off air?

You need a suitable VHF/UHF antenna. Then you simply "Tune" VHF/UHF frequencies on the TV and it should find channels and automatically "Lock" onto and store them.

Will a tv bought in england work in spain

HELLO

The UK line standard is 625 PAL -I. The Spanish standard is 625 PAL B & G.

There are quite a number of TV's around in the UK that are multi-system and I would check very carefully if yours is capable of VHF reception too. If there is no way for you to change the TV over to PAL-B and PAL-G (usually done in the MENU setting when tuning) then it will be PAL-I, UK standard only which means you will have to buy a Spanish TV.

If you are unsure, then ask a TV high street dealer who may be able to help you on this.

HOPE THIS HAS HELPED (:-)

Since the digital switchover, I have lost channels, despite re running the setup and tuning. Any suggestions as to why this is happening?

I have a similar issue. When the digital switch happened here some of the local TV stations changed frequencies from UHF to VHF. I do not have a VHF antenna so I am unable to receive these channels. I do have a great UHF antenna, but it will not receive VHF. The fix is of course is a new UHF/VHF antenna. I am 50 miles away from the TV transmitters.

This may or may not be your problem. I hope this is helpful to you.

Cant get the new digital tv schannels

HELLO

There are differences in the frequencies used in NZ and Australia and this is why you cannot pick up ALL digital stations in Australia.

Example: NZ uses PAL B @ VHF and PAL G @ UHF
AUSTRALIA uses PAL B @ UHF and this is why the channels differ.

I would think the only way to get round this problem is to buy yourself a terrestrial set-top box or satellite box and then you will get all digital stations.

I have a motto: Always buy your TV in the country you live in. It would be like me taking a UK TV to France - the systems are different including the digital channels. Put this down to experience - you've learned the hard way!

ALL THE BEST!

Taking TV from UK to Australia

The TV has a setting for Australia in the Digital setup menu, so there shouldn't be a problem.

The mains voltage in Australia is 240V - 50Hz, so you should only need to change the mains lead.

If you decide to go ahead, when you set up the tv:

Switch on tv.

Press and hold "MENU" on the side of the tv.

Menu will appear on-screen.

Continue to hold until menu clears.

Wait.

TV will reset to factory settings, allowing you to re-tune the tv.

I don't know about the frequencies being different or not, but to get to youse your TV you can use the tuner in an old VCR if you have one sitting around.
