Question about Zenith SY2551S TV
I'm a huge baseball fan and the picture on my TV is good but the score of the game is in white lettering and I can no longer tell what it says (blurry). It's gotten progressively worse over a period of years. I've tried all of the settings changes in the menus to no avail. Then I thought that perhaps it was simply dust on the tube or the electronics so I removed the back cover and vacuumed it out and wiped the tube. This actually made the picture a little bit better but didn't change the white lettering. It makes it very difficult to watch a "dubbed" movie too. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thx Pete
Your TV is nearly 10 years old. Over a period of time, the Picture tube has become weak! (Technically, the Electron Emmissions from the Electron Heater Element has become reduced) Permanent solution is to replace it, but the cost will be prohibitive. Best is to get a new TV. Otherwise, take it into a Technician Shop, who will recondition it for a modest fee.
