Question about Car Audio & Video
Hi, My ML320 has problems and the OEM radio combo unit. Often will not turn on, When it will turn on, it stays on! Somtimes if it will not come on, then if I can turn the ignition off then back on it works. However this in getting less and less frequent.
The problem appears to be with the interlocked from the ignition switch.
The face plate control back light buttons always work, but the blue screen stays unlit.

First of all, you aren't going to like this solution because it's the truth. If you rate me poorly, it's because you don't understand the truth. The optical pickup is bad and needs to be replaced. Anything made by Xtreme sound is poorly built. Yes, you're lucky to have even gotten four months use out of it. I've seen some that only last for two months and they die. Fortunately, that's why you didn't pay that much for it. I would suggest getting a Pioneer in the future.

there is a broken ribbon cable that needs to be replaced. parts and labor shouldnt cost you more than a 100 bucks. worth it since it never has the problem again

SOURCE: Clarion M5675 won't turn on
Take the stereo all the way out and hook the black wire to the negative terminal and the yellow and the red wire to the positive terminal on a charged car battey. If it still does not turn on you may have fuse in the back of the deck. If not it's probably fried.

SOURCE: Pioneer 7800MP can't turn on
It looks like the flexible cable worn out. Try to replace the cable.

SOURCE: Car Radio just stoped working.
My same model did this too. The wiring harness may have gone bad. Try direct wiring the stereo or replacing the wiring harness if you can get one. This fixed the problem for me.
