Question about Hitachi 32UX01S TV

1 Answer

TV will not power on after powering off.

After powering the TV off the screen went white for a couple of seconds and then the screen went to nothing but static with no sound. Also I cannot power the TV off. The only way to power the TV off is to unplug it. After unplugging it and plugging it back in it will not power on; however, if I wait about 5 mins I'm able to power it on and watch TV normally. But when I power it off it does the same thing (white screen for a couple of seconds and then nothing but static and no sound) and the only way to power it down is to unplug it. Does anyone have an idea what is wrong with my TV? Thanks in advanced!!

Re: TV will not power on after powering off.

There is no reset button on these new sets, your set has complete power problem since you have no lights no clicks, this might have happen because of lightning or power surge, either one creates a lot of damage,if you are familiar with tv service you can check the main fuse,he should be close to where the power cord comes in,if you find the fuse blown it needs to be replaced with an exact replacement for AMPS rating and VOLTS rating as well as size,if the fuse is blown black we might have more problems ahead in the circuit and it will blow up again as sonn as you plug the tv back in,if it blows again it will need a more involved repair, the problem could be in the primary side of the power supply,if you are not too familiar you should seek the help of a servicer a least for an estimate but if you suspect power surge or lighting damage dont invest any more on this set and get a new one.

Jvc av32d303 screen went blank power went off and timer light came on. eventually I starts flashing ever couple of seconds and never stops. Does nothing else

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.
Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

I hooked the ps3 to the philips tv. turned on the ps3, AV1 displays in the corner. Nothing else happens, I am expecting the ps3 logo

give this a try...

Leave the TV running, go over to your PS3 and turn it off.

Once its off, hold the power button down till you hear a beep, KEEP HOLDING THE POWER BUTTON till you hear a double beep. The PS3 will shut itself off.

Give the device a couple of seconds, then hit the power button one last time (just turn it on, you don't have to hold it).

If all went right, your baby is back up and running...

Tv switches off for a couple of seconds when the screen has a white flash.

dont waste time, because your tv can indicate immediately at a w/ shop for a fault, and it will be easy for a tech.
if you wait the tv will burn more components and it will be expensive for you. and difficult for a tech.
plse do that, and your set will be live again. o

Turns off as soon as I turn it on. ws - 65819

I had the same problem. The repairman said the Convergence ICs were bad, located on the big aluminum heat sinks on the center board in the TV. He replaces both, and a couple of fuses (that look like resistors).

The tv worked fine for a couple of days then did exactly the same thing. They are coming back out to fix it next week. If there is anything different, I'll post an update.

Tv not powering on

as per your statement there is a loose contact in power supply section of your tv. it is 1oo% sure that allthe parts are ok as tv runs ok when it comes on. but you will have to call tech. as without knowing technology it is dangerous to open tv due to high voltage.
