Question about Audio Players & Recorders
Actually there two problems with this recorder/player: 1. When you try to play a recorded movie and at the same time is recording another movie, then it may erase all recordings. It happen three times. All recordings are from TV channels. 2. Even when everything is erased from the HDD it still shows that 95 GB are used!!! The HDD is 250 GB.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: can't erase
connect to your pc. when the denpa shows PC, and when the pc folder opens on your screen, delete the files that you want gone. it will remove them from the recorder.

I have the same problem. I believe this unit is a lemon by Samsung. I was so exhausted I went to Hard drive erase. After I erased the HD, now it will not record or go into recode mode. I think all it good for now is just to view the monitor. When I call Samsung they dont have a clue what a DVR is. I never seen a company so illerate. They cant even tell me where I can send it for repair.

I have the same unit. Similar problem but mine does not erase the disc. It says disc error on almost all dvd that are store bought and kicks them out. Will play almost all of the ones I recorded on it and finalized. I must let a disc in it at all times or door will not open. Lots of bad stuff on the net about this unit. It is a lemon! Mine is out of warranty and sony wants $175 to fix. Saw some blogs where it was serviced 3 times and still not right. Buy a new one before investing in the unit you have as there are many gremlins in it! Sorry I cannot offer specific help but this is where I am at!!

I called the Future Shop where I bought the recorder and the salesman looked at the manual online and saw that the Delete instructions do not tell you what you need to know.
To Erase or Delete recordings from this recorder, you have to select the track or file you want to erase, hit the Erase button, see that track number flashing THEN hold the Erase button down for a full second.
You can toggle until ALL comes up and then erase all your files at once if you wish.
You can also hit the Erase button first and then select the track you want recorded. The important thing to know is that you then have to see the number flashing THEN hold the Erase button down for a full second.
