Question about Panasonic Toughbook CF-30 Notebook
I want to install winxp on my laptop Panasonic Toughbook CF-30 but mid way during installation it tells me to quit set up because no hard disk is installed. Please Help me out
This laptop has a SATA hard drive.
The problem is that XPinstallation CD does not have a SATA driver, unless you have a SATA drive on adisk etc. and can install the driver when XP asks for a hard drive driver then,XP cannot detect the hard disk and therefore won't install XP.The FIX.Go into the BIOS anddisable the SATA drive (enable IDE emulation), this will make XP think it is aIDE/PATA hard disk. Then you can install XP normally. When Windows hasbeen installed then install all the device drivers (including the SATA driver),then shut down and boot up and got into the BIOS and enable the SATA drive.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Here you , this is a step by step disassembly guide with pictures
Its for a Toughbook CF-50 but it should be similar as theres not too much difference in the model number

SOURCE: panasonic toughbook model number
Download drivers for both if you are unsure, one way to tell if its a MK1, look underneath the laptop at the model number, if is says neither MK's its MK1 as it will say if its a MK2.
Saying that the drivers should work on both machine models
Good luck and kind regards
