Unit motor runs OK, but I have standing water. Water is not draining from sink.

The trap has a clog.
Put bucket under trap.
Get out some old towels.
Remove 2 nuts on trap, and it falls loose.
Clean the tubular pipes and then re-assemble.

Read tips about tubular pipes under the sink:

The garbage disposal motor works but the water will not drain from the sink. What can I do?

You have clog in tubular pipes under sink.

Start at P trap under sink:
Take a photo if necessary so reassembly is easy.
Remove both nuts on p-trap and trap falls loose.
Any tubular pipe that gets moved, has to be taken apart and reassembled.
So move as few pipes as needed to get job done.
Remove tailpiece going into disposal.
Clean out disposal, tubular pipes and trap.

Re-assemble tubular pipe.
Rubber washers are replaced with new washers.
Plastic washers are cleaned and re-used.

Tapered end of plastic washer goes away from nut.
Clean and reuse tubular pipes.

We always use a good slap of rectorseal on all tubular joints and washers when re-assembling.
This guarantees there will be no leaks.
Use rectorseal on every joint directly on the washer or joint just before putting on nut.

Here is an interesting problem. We have a Badger 5 1/2 Hp Garbage disposal hooked up on left side of double sink. The Disposer runs, spins, but will NOT drain.. at all. Left sink with the insinkerator will...

If this connects into a tee between the sinks, usually if the tee is in the middle of sinks, then often there is a divider in the tee to keep water from backing up the other drain. Remove the tee and inspect to be sure it isn't cloggged. Also put a bucket under the outlet. Try running it this way, if you get good flow you know the disposal is working

How do you remove it so you can replace the sink

To remove the diposal, do this:

Turn off the power to the disposal first

Under the sink disconnect the wiring to the disposal - this requires removing a cover and usually a couple of wire nuts. Then loosen and pull the connector out, replacing the wiring nuts after you do that. Some disposals are pluigged in under the sink. If your is, just unplug it.

Under the sink, disconnect the drain pipes to the trap

To remove the disposal, there is a keeper ring with three loops protruding from the sides directly under the sink. Note the position of the disposal under the sink so when you put it back, the drain pipes will fit again. Insert a short phillips screwdriver or pin punch into one of the loops. Support the disposal under it, then rotate the ring counterclockwise. The disposal should come loose. Be careful - they can be a little heavy.

How to uninstall a badger disposal

Be sure power switch is off then disconnect the power cord remove the center sink drain pan by using a screwdriver to turn the basket in the sink losen only at this time. next disconnect the 1 1/2 pipe form the sink drain by unscrewing the two plastic nuts that hold it on. IF it has a 3/4 inch hose disconnect the clamp and remove the hose next unscrew the basket and drop the pump down and pull out. If you are going to replace it with a new disposal you need do nothing more it is ready to reinstall. If you are tsking out the disposal completly and not replacing it then you will need to buy a new down spot pipe and a new sink basket kit with gasket and install it you will have to measure the leanght of the pipe to get the right one, be sure to pay attention which way the plastic gaskets go, the beveled edge goes towards the flow of water.
