Grounds? or Grounded?

When I bought my house was not a brand new one. my wife said "well you know about everything No?" So I had to prove myself. Fixer up houses could be a pain in our Royale ****! but us man will say yes I can do it!. One of the problem I address right away in my new use home was the electrical wiring. Old houses need to be upgrade their electrical wiring including main fuse breakers boxes. I went to my local hardware and found different gadgets & devices to help us Doit Yourself people. For a few bucks i found this plug in device that will give me different light blinking tones when you encounter a faulty wiring or open ground. It works, I found some open ground in my wall outlets and fix them. Open ground can cause electrical failure in your wiring which could affect all your electronics and appliances. Take your time to check for open grounds wiring in your home you won't regreted.

Call your local electrician for your electrical needs. Don't be a fool to try to fix things without the right knowledge & experiance in such matters.

4 way switch

If you wish to control a light or lights from more than 2 places, then you need a 4 way switch in between the 3way switches. You can use any number of 4 way switches in a lighting circuit.
To rough wire the switches, run a 3wire with ground cable from the 3way thru the 4way(s) to the other 3way. As in the 3way switch wiring the light and power can be at either end, that part does not change.
The diagram for the addition of a 4way switch looks like this..

The travelers from the 3way switch connect to like colored screws on the 4way .. If more switches are wanted, just add them in the center of the circuit in the same manner as the first 4way .

Three way switches

Three way switch wiring can sometimes get confusing. If you are wiring or replacing a 3 way switch, and it is not working quite right, you probably got a wire mixed up.
The proper way to wire the switches is to run a 4wire cable between the switches. That is black, white, red, green.
In all electrical installations, the green wires are interconnected and also pigtailed and connected to the metal wall boxes and to the green screws on switches, receptacles, or lights.
On the 3 way switches there are a pair of like colored screws, usually brass. These are for interconnecting the switches. The red and black of the 4 wire cable connect to these terminals at each switch.
The other wires are connected in different ways for differebnt situations. Look at these sketches for cases where the cables for the light and power are in separate wall boxes..

and for when the light and power cables are in the same wall box..

Also, this is a link to a site that shows the other variation methods of wiring 3 ways with explanations. There are a lot of ads on the page, the links you are looking for are about two thirds down titled "Related Posts". Hope this helps.

Three phase house wiring, i want diagram with electrical symbols

What kind of diagram are you looking for? Large business and warehouses have 3 Phase. I've not heard of a house. but let me know. Typically 110 comes out of one breaker and one neutral wire (and saftey ground is 3rd) 220 comes out of two hot leads and one neutral wire (single phase). 3 phase comes out of 3 hot leads and one neutral but is still 220 volt.

Problems with a GFCI outlet (no voltage). GFCI outlet was replaced and reset recently but that didn't fix the problem. One other GFCI breaker in the same room is working OK. Also, water is entering...

if your room is powered by one breaker you need only one gfci and it has to be hooked up correctly to protect the other outlets a new gfci will have a tape tag over the out side usually the top set of nuts the water in the panel is a major fire hazard i would fix this problem first your feed to the gfci may have shorted out in the wall between the breaker and the gfci if it is wired separate from the other gfci in that room one thing you can do to save calling an electrician is go to lows home depot or any electrical store and purchase a plug in tester they are inexpensive and easy to use it will tell you if wires are hooked up correctly backwards or if you have a short somewhere in the line this is the same little gadget that an electrical inspector uses to make sure new homes are wired correctly an outlet will still work even if some wires are incorrect in the circuit the outlet tester confirms all is good and safe
