CREDIT REPORT SCAMS


You know the importance of periodically checking your credit report, but can't stand those scams which provide "Free Credit Reports", if you signup for the not so free service. The Federal Trade Commission allows you to get 1 credit report a year from EACH of the 3 credit agencys' at absolutely no cost. (If you want yiur credit score you will have to pay from $5 to $10, depending on the agency.
I make it a annual practice of getting all 3 on my birthday.

Are a credit report and a credit score the same thing?


No. a credit report is a data filled report containing all your financial history and data about payments you've made, loans you've taken and your banking history etc. Whereas credit scores are a 3 digit number that is given based on all the information in your credit report. So they are linked but very different.

you are allow to use this service for free once per year and i believe you can obtain all three reports at once.

Go to www.freescore.com. They can provide you with a free credit report from the three credit reporting agencies.

You should probably get all three.
