I need a operating disk for a new hard drive for my presario SR1610NX PC desktop

You need a new Operating System.
Try Windows 7, or Ubuntu Linux. (It's free)

Or are you speaking of a Restoration Disk?

In the USA call HP Support.
Toll free number 1-800-474-3863
24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Restoration Disk is free. The shipping and handling is not.
$17 for a 5 to 7 day ship, $24 for a 2 to 3 day ship.

Not in the USA?
Here is the HP Support Worldwide contact information,

Do the computer have eny problems

Sorry mate all computers can develope problems either by downloading or installing too much software. Viruses and infections can be a night mare and hackers can steel valuable information.A hard drive doesnt really lose the information when you delete it it can be brought back by the right person it sold on. Then theres internal problems theres a lot of technical software inside a system always take care of what you have get a good security software and youll be safe. For a new computer to develope a fault is exstreamly rare and they all have a system called backup. so if you lose a system just go to backup and your system you lost will be recovered.

Hp internet problem

You may need to look at your router and wireless gadgets, instead of your computer. Is your router high up in the room and giving a strong signal to the computer? If not, get a bridge to repeat the signal. Do you have a cordless phone or other device that is causing interference? Is someone borrowing your router signal in a way that causes your signal issues (what encryption do you have enabled)?. Some routers just lose their connection and need to be rebooted regularly. In some cases, the easiest solution is just to go to a wired network and not deal with the problem at all.

Gateway 831GM Eratic Fan Noise

Hi,

This can be caused by several things:

1. Bad temp sensor
2. Bad voltage, but that will usually cause the whole system to restart
3. Too low maximum temp setting inside the chassis(setting is in bios), often denote as max case temp.

One way to bypass the problem is rig the fan to a molex adapter with a variable voltage molex to 2/3/4pin fan connector and adjust the speed to the maximum quiet setting.

The 831's did run a bit warm so if the case temp setting is set to low it will fluxuate quite a bit. Try adjusting the max case temp up around 50c just to see if that does it, if it does either use the variable voltage dial solution or add a second case fan that's always on, prefferably a low RPM running direct off molex so it will reduce the average temp and therby the need of the monitored case fan to rev up.

I have a HP G60-120 that only sporadically responds when I press the power button to boot up. The first time out of the box it happened, and I spent 2 hours on the phone with HP only to be told to remove...

This is a brand new computer? If it is HP needs to make arrangements to repair or replace. This should not happen with a new computer. Something is defective. This is their problem not yours.

The computers we purchased had Vista already on them, we are having a few problems which include the fact that no one can open our templates that we use when they could so so before we got the new PC's. ...

check that you have the Daylight savings in the time settings checked, or try unchecking it and then setting the time.

Also check the time set in the bios on boot up, it may be set differently.

As for Vista, Good luck. Alot of people dont have it yet so they have trouble using files made on a fvista system. MS office has a compatability install i think, check MS website.

Vista is new and has alot of bugs that havent been fixed yet, also alot of WinXP programs and games arent compatible so they wont run on Vista.

Either they have to upgrad or you have to downgrade.
Both options arent fun, I never buy a new operating system untill mine becomes obsolete. Since you got new computyers you where forced to have it installed. You could always re-install a copy of XP on the system and then wait to put vista on till more people have it.

Microsoft does this on purpose so everyone is forced to by their products even if they dont want or need it.

XP runs fie now, so why upgrade?
because MS wants to stuff there pockets.

Good luck
