SOURCE: how to fit a belt on a tumble dryer

unplug the dryer,
220v is not fun
dryers are generic inside, regardless of maker
while you got it apart to replace the belt is a good time to clean out exhaust vent pipes and the squirrel cage fan, no lint, better air flow, less $$ to run
3cd9043.jpg the tensioner may push Up on the lower run.

  • open case, most front panels are removed including door, remember to disconnect door switch wires, set panel aside
  • pull drum out
  • check drum support rollers
  • check drum felts, bushes guides
  • locate tensioner pulley, belts have been known to pull them out of the mounting when it breaks, check , reinstall if out
  • pick up broken belt off floor of case
  • take belt to parts store and match it, despite the huge number of dryer models there are very few belts.
  • If any felts or rollers are worn, stuck, damaged take them too to the parts store, and replace in pairs, despite the huge number of dryer models there are very few rollers or felts
  • after ensuring rollers anf felts and bearings are serviceable, loop new belt around drum at the wear mark from prior installation, reinsert drum
  • loop new belt around motor pulley.
  • pull tensioner pulley against spring to end of motion
  • loop belt around tensioner pulley
  • allow tensioner to slowly move back by spring tension till the belt is taut
put front panel back on, plugging in door switch
plug in mains
dry clothes
takes longer to type than to do

Indesit IDV75UK Tumble Dryer 2200 Watt. My Indesit dryer stops when it changes spin direction?

Question edited for clarity, full 'make model (what it is)'.
Question moved from Miscellaneous to Indesit Dryer.

You have an issue that no one else has encountered. My _guess_ is that the motor controller board is faulty. You will need a service call.

Why when my door is open on my indesit idc75

The door switch is probably stuck in the "door closed" position. I presume the light inside also does not turn on.

Indesit idc75 tumble dryer not working

Trying to help here. There was probably a switch latch at the place were you push your button to open it. When they pulled the latch it broke the contact signal plate. Now the dryer doesn't know when the door is closed. So it want start.

Indesit IDC75 belt change

Your tumble dryer is a little different than I am accustomed to, but there are millions of dryers in the U.S. with the same sort of system. Try this. I think ( I hope) the belt goes as follows:
The small black(?) pulley should be spring loaded, so that you can either push or pull it toward you or away from you. I think the belt goes around the motor shaft first, then goes back around the black pulley, then to the drum up above. When you are done, the belt should be upside down S shaped, with the motor shaft in the bottom of the S and the black pulley in the top of the S. I cannot type an upside down S on this keypad. When you pull or push the loose pulley, it should allow the belt to slip by on one side or the other to go around the back of it.
Be blessed.
