Question about Cobra 150 GTL DX Base CB Radio

CB Radio Repair

Is there any place in the USA that mostly everyone agrees is a very good place to send your CB in for repairs? I see a lot of ads, but no reviews.

Hello, I would recommend Key CB in Warren, Indiana. They used to be a warranty center for Cobra radio's and the 150/200 in particular. Sorry I don't have the phone # handy.

Or you can go here and contact one of the warrenty centers,,,

Hope this helps you out,,, let me know,,, Mechanic

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Where can i get the ranger professional bluetooth ppr -rbt1 repair?

if its still under warrentee then send it back to where it was made. If not send it to a place like Bells cb in Fl. or another reputable shop. Inquire with them before you send it to them and they will tell you how to send it.

Where can I take my radio for repair in Wisconsin

I did a google search and the only CB shop I found was this one. Unfortunately there are not a lot of CB shops around any more. You may have to send it out to one for repair. Most do business over the internet now, and rely on shipping the radios. there are a bunch out there.

You can google any of these, or just CB repair.

Bells cb
Sparkys cb shack
radio active radios

There are a lot on the net that will do repairs via shipping.

I have no sound from my radio. Can you tell me where I can send it for repair?

Goggle CB repair shop and you will get a bunch of shops. Add your city and state in with your search and you will get one in your area and save on shipping.

My radio i can key up the light changes but

First off you can by any radio parts that you need and any good CB shop knows that. But if its only a little over a year old then you can send it back to factory and it'll be fixed free. There is a serial number on the back of the radio the first to digits is the year and the second two the month it was made so is a year or a little over a year old if so call 1-814-898-1046.

Can you tell me if a galaxy 33hml is a good radio it has been converted to cb channels and is priced for 100.00 but needs the lights fixed and i don't really want to buy a radio that is out dated or isn't...

If I were to spend the money I would not buy used such as this. Would recommend buying new with money back guarantee. Radio Shack would be a good place to check out some prices.

I just got a used 29 ltd classic from a guy who had it hooked up with a kicker he said it was turned down to 3 watts. Is ther any way i turn it back up? i dont have any cb shops near my house

The radio should be sent to a repair shop to be tested & aligned as needed to bring it back to spec, if there are none local to you.

Currently, transmitter work is to be performed by FCC licensed technicians, as the work requires several types of expensive test equipment to make sure the radio isn't over deviating, power isn't set too high, or causing "spatter" across the range of the CB frequencies, or adjacent bands as well. Tweaking the radio yourself will probably cause more than just headaches.

Of course, if the radio was improperly adjusted to begin with, you could be violation transmitting with it. Many people seem to enjoy illegally connecting linear amplifiers to the radios and "peaking" them as well. I'd send it out for professional alignment and tuning to be sure the radio won't cause problems for you with authorities, later.

I hope this helps!

Hi any one know any cb repairs near norwich thanks

Dunno about any shops near where you live. There are a few good places online you can send the radio too.

Does this radio have an RF GAIN? if it does this should be all the way up. Also, bring down the squelch.

The RF GAIN on a cb radio is how sensitive your receive is. the more up it is, the further you can hear.

the squelch is used to cut off noise. The higher the squelch is, the strong a signal needs to be to hear it, so you will only hear people close.

No receive on AM side works great on SSB

Hello cqdx, wow, where do I start??? That radio is about 30 years old, and a lot of changes have taken place on the circuit board componants. Not to mention that the Royce line of radios were not of the best quality even when they were new. Probably you have a solder joint problem or a cap or resistor has changed value. Really not worth the time to troubleshoot and repair. As a tech, I would much rather spend the time on a good quality radio to repair, and not something that will be back. Just my opinion, as a 10 year tech. Mechanic
