Smeg large oven, takes a lifetime to pre heat, I have changed the seal on the door but it hasn't made a difference, any suggestions?

Don't know 'bout yours but have you tried the old tea towel in the corners trick to see if its the hinge alignment and not the seal? Put two tea towels in the lower corners sticking out of the oven part way and push the oven door closed a few times. Saved me from trying to replace the seal on my Miele.

We have a Hotpoint double oven spec# BD52K and after having the element refitted have notice that the bottom oven door no longer fits flush causing the oven not to seal correctly. is there any way that...

Assuming that the door was not removed for the new element to be fitted, then it sounds to ne as thiugh the oven door hinges are weak.
The only solution is to replace both door hinges,
If the door was removed, then it could possibly be not fitted back correctly.

I have an old hotpoint oven model rb525j2. I am trying to repair the door gasket. I have the part, the old one seems to be rotted away in the seal and I have no idea how to take the old one out, much less...

Most ovens have 4 or more screws, that tighten the inside and the outside of the door together--

Also-- Most doors can be removed, and laid on the floor, or on the bench--
Either way The door needs to be in a location you can get to those screw.

Separating the inside from the outside will allow access to the glass, and the door gasket.

Let us know what you find when you get this far..
