The compresser could fail yes, but you could also have an open circuit. If the contacts in the thermostat got corroded, or the starter relay, it may simply not be told to turn on. It may be time for a technician to measure continuity in the circuit.

this is the problem because it control the compressor and fans
but to be sure and on the safe side if the thermosat is bad it wont work either. there are two wires that go to the t'stat (http://www.repairclinic.com/Appliance-Parts?s=t-JCB2280HES-%3d%3dc214temperature control) jump them or put them together if it goes on replace if it doesnt go on replace the timer control board (the first link i gave you)

Honeywell compact refrigerator model # 88031 making a clicking noise, not cooling, interior light blinks, and the fans in back are not working properly....seems as if it's not getting full power. worked fine for about a year and justed stopped.
