the fan is broken on your unit, this is a feature to keep the unit from over heating

check if there is anything blocking the fan from moving/rotating

try to contact your manufacturer

SOURCE: Fan check shows up on display.

Can you see or hear if the fan is running? Is there sufficient clearance (4 inches) between it and the nearest surface for airflow? Is it clogged up with dust bunnies? You may be able to fix it yourself.

Unplug the unit. Look inside the vent at the rear. Reach in with a non-conductive probe to see if the fan turns freely. If not, it's bound up and needs replacement or unclogging.

If it turns freely with power off but doesn't rotate with power on, it's dead.

If it turns sufficiently fast with power on and you still have Fan Check, it's a sensor.

Hi Roberto,

Well many thing could be happening here for example, the DMD board could not be working properly, please also listen carefully for any strange noises, like high pitch whirling sounds, that could mean that your color wheel is not working properly, the lamp will only last you from 6000 to 8000 lamp hours if you have a Phillips lamp and if you have a generic lamp that will last you from 3500 to 4500 lamp hours but i doubt that, this is your problem you can go to for further trouble shooting

My samsung home cinema system - HT-X250; Trips off every couple of minutes with "Fan Check" higlighted on the display

Had this same issue with my Samsung HT-X50, it seems these systems have cheap fans. Mine was under warranty but when I contacted samsung they wanted me to pay to ship it to them. **** that, it would of cost me 70 to ship.

What I did was open the unit take the fan and go to a computer store asking for a similar one, I got all this done for about 10 bucks. **** that samsung warranty

Just puchased grundig LCD TV,model glcd2205whtdv, tuned the tv stations in okay. But every 3 minutes the LCD display goes off, sound is still there. Use the remote to turn unit off then turn on again,...

Initially it would appear that you have either a LCD screen problem or your CCF Lamps goes out. Of the two I would suspect more the CCF Lamp which could be the lamp themselves, the inverter that powers the lamps or the logic circuitry that deactivates the lamp.

Additionally, this would be heat related or even possibly a loose connection somewhere in amongst the areas above mentioned.

Considering that the unit is new and presumably under warranty, perhaps your best bet would be to call it in for service by their authorized service personnel. Any diagnostic/corrective action would require that the back of the unit be opened for a look & see which of course would void your warranty.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
