Check inside mem slot if there isnt a leg that fold over or that has bend. Sometimes when you put a card in the slot the conector pins bend so that it did not touch the mem card.

you slide off the back of the phone. Remove the battery. Then take out the sim card. Right beneath that is where the memory card is supposed to go. You can easily tell if it's in or not because you have to push it down and hear a pop. Hope that helps, I've had mine for three weeks now!:)

Try loading the card with songs. I've read that the VU won't accept SDHC of 4GB, until you load it with a min of 2GB of stuff...songs, movies..etc.
