Question about Whirlpool LSN1000LW Top Load Washer

1 Answer

Hey I have a Whirlpool Ultimate Care II that wont drain. I checked the lid switch and got an OHM reading across circuit when i click switch.. This means the switch is working, right? The washer fills and agitates fine but when gets to the pause part of cycle, never comes out of it.. doesn't seem to be trying to do anything. My washer finishes the first wash cycle then pauses to go onto the next cycle or step in the cycle and quits. It doesn't go any further than that.

Look inside your pump it sounds like you have something stuck in it like hair button money pen or another foreign object jammed in there

don't ask me how i manage a building and fer christ sake if i don't have to fish out at least 1 pen per week from a pump impeller
im surprised

Check your lid switch, you should hear a click when you open and close the lid. If you don't hear a click, replace the switch.

Won't spin, won't drain

Hi...

If your washer does not drain, you need to check this:

  • Inspect the drain hose for kinks
  • Test the timer control
  • Test the lid switch (some models)
  • Inspect the water pump
  • Inspect the drive belt (belt drive only)
  • Inspect the motor coupler
If it does not spin check also this:

  • Test the lid switch
  • Test the timer control
  • Test the centrifugal switch
  • Test the water level switch
  • Inspect the motor coupler
  • Inspect the drive belt (belt drive only)
  • Inspect under the washer for soot (clutch)
  • Test the motor
  • Inspect the pulley
  • Test the transmission

Good luck !!!

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II, model LSQ9010KQ0

lid switch lift lid and listen for click when lid shuts.. believe switch on rear left just behind lid hinge or on older models right side about half way opening (ck for boken lever or screw holes)also hinge may not be fully contacting switch ckd hinge screws just in case first if too much play in hinge will fail to contact switch..switch may be acessed by removing screws in bottom rear corners on back of console and lifting console

Washer won't start spin cycle

sounds like a lid assy issue, can you hear a "clicking" just before the lid is closed, try opening nad closing a few times listening for a distinct "click" if not the machine doesnt think the door is closed and for safety reasons wont spin and drain.
