My fan on my laptop as stoped working what dol do

Step 1:
CPU cooling is an integral part of your system's health and performance. An overheated CPU can cause damage to itself, the motherboard and other components. Your CPU's fan is the primary cooling system for your processor in your laptop computer and helps regulate its temperature. One of the primary reasons for CPU fans malfunctioning is that they collect dirt and dust particles. Repairing any internal component of a laptop can be difficult, but if you follow specific instructions you will be able to fix your laptop's fan.

WARNING: Before you start troubleshooting remember that you are dealing with electricity that can KILL. http://www.kitchentablecomputers.com/static.php - rules Only work inside the computer case when the power has been switched off and disconnected. Never open the power source. Some of the below steps recommend removing physical parts within the computer. While in the computer it is highly recommend that you be aware of ESD and its potential hazards Remove the faceplate of your laptop by unlatching the plastic hinges; these are usually found on the sides of the base of your laptop. If you are having trouble locating these hinges, consult your laptop's instruction manual. Remove the keyboard from your laptop by removing the four screws located at the corners. Some laptops may have five or more screws, so if you run into resistance, double-check to make sure all of the screws are removed. Remove the screws near the base of your display and gently remove the display from the base of your laptop. Make sure you unplug the video and Wi-Fi cables when removing your display to ensure they are not damaged. Unscrew and remove any fasteners holding the outer shell of your laptop in place. You should now be able to see the internal components of your laptop. Locate your CPU fan; it is the large fan located in the upper left-hand corner of your laptop. Blow compressed air into the CPU fan to expel dust or dirt particles that have collected there. If compressed air does not work, use a cotton swab and gently clean the blades of the fan. Reassemble your laptop.

Remove the fan from laptop, and remove the dust build up from the fan blades. Next remove outer cover of fan and clean inner section of fan case. Reattach outer cover of fan case. Next clean surrounding area in laptop and than re insert fan in laptop.

Unless you know how to take a laptop apart and put it together again, I do not recommend trying this.

How to clean the fan of my computer

Regular maintenance of your Compaq Presario laptop helps to keep the machine running properly.

Keeping the fans clean is especially important, because the fans blow out hot air and bring in fresh air to cool down the laptop.

Fans attract dust, however, which can slow them down, resulting in a hot laptop.

If the laptop overheats, vital parts can cease functioning altogether.

Consequently, keeping your laptop's fans clean is crucial.

or you might want to remove it to get it clean

HP Presario C500 is a laptop that, like most other laptops, requires a clean, functioning fan in order to work properly.

If your fan is too full of dust to function properly or needs to be replaced because it is no longer working, then your computer could be in danger of overheating and crashing.

Instead of having to purchase a new laptop because your C500's fan has failed, remove it and clean the fan or replace it with a new one.

Turn off your computer and unplug all the cords and cables from it, even the power cable.

Turn the laptop over and remove the battery, then remove all the screws at the bottom of the computer with a Phillips-head screwdriver.

Remove the two face plates from the bottom of the computer and you'll see the hard drive and RAM below.

The face plates will come out easily once the screws are removed.

Remove the two screws holding the hard drive in place and then lift the hard drive out.

Remove the screw found directly below the hard drive.

Turn the laptop over again and pop off the keyboard.

If all the screws at the bottom of the computer where removed, then the keyboard will come right out.

Remove all the screws underneath the keyboard and case and then lift the case enough to access the fan assembly in your HP Presario C500.

Unhook the cable coming from the fan into the motherboard and remove the screws holding the fan in place, then pop the fan out of the computer.

Hope this helps

How to change the cooling fan in a toshiba laptop model p200d-139

Instructions

Shut down your Toshiba laptop, and then disconnect all cables. Close the LCD lid, and then place the laptop face down on a flat surface. Position the laptop with front edge facing you.

Locate the battery pack near the top section of the laptop's bottom casing. Press on the battery release button. Remove the battery from the laptop.

Locate the cooling fan compartment cover. Its location varies from laptop to laptop, but it will be the only hardware cover with a vent in it. Remove the Phillips-head screws securing the fan's cover in place. Remove the cover from the laptop.

Disconnect the fan's cable from its connector on the motherboard. Remove the Phillips-head screws securing the fan in place. Lift the old fan out of the fan compartment and set it aside. Removing the old fan will reveal the processor chip. Apply a thin coat of thermal grease to the processor's surface using a clean paper towel. This will prevent your new processor from frying once you power on your laptop.

Place the new cooling fan assembly inside the fan compartment. Align the screw holes on the new fan with the screw holes inside the compartment. Replace the four retaining Phillips-head screws, and then reconnect the fan's power cable to the motherboard. Replace the fan compartment's plastic cover, and its retaining Phillips-head screws.

Replace the battery pack and reconnect all power cables and external devices. Turn on your laptop to test the new cooling fan

How do i get my asus model ul80j to switch from integrated graphics to nvidia

From my years of working with computers most of them only work with one video card at a time. If you have two video cards on the computer and if you have them both connected, a lot of computers get confused and can't handle that.

I've seen computers where there is a VGA Port (that normally comes with most computers) and the user goes out an purchases some heavy duty graphics video card and installs it. When they try use the VGA port, the computer refuses to switch to it as long as that other video card that they purchased is in the computer.

I've down countless of house calls to repair a computer where the purchased video card has gone bad and the customer thinks they are up the creek without a paddle until they get a new video card. Not so, I just remove the bad video card and plug into the vga video port that came with the computer.
