I f you have the original cd, take a time and don't select the option "let windows find the file"
Select.....

Specify a Location
.
Click Browse.
Browse the folder in your CD (provided by the manufacturer)
Open the folders (all of them to find the correct drive) and choose the driver for your wireless card.
The driver Is inside for sure.(If you have the right cd)

OK.

Another tip is check it out on the cd if you have some Setup.exe to run the application.
In that case, double click on Setup exe.

Fitted an Intel 2200BG Wifi Mini PCI card into my Compaq N600c. Works OK but the laptop re-boots itself after being powered down. Thank You in advance

Remove the newly installed hardware and reboot the system, if the problem still persists, there might be another problem, but if Ok without the PCI card, then reinstall it carefully. Good luck..

Network adaptetr issue

First make sure you have the latest drivers downloaded for your card.
Then go to control panel, device manager, and make sure wireless card is enabled.
You can also go to your wireless properties and make sure that the card is enabled and working correctly. Use add hardware if needed. If you have an installation cd, you should install it.

I delete my sound card and now I don't have sound on my PC. I don't know, what to do.

If you have the sound card cd, insert it in your cd drive and install software and drivers otherwise go to control panel, click add/remove hardware and have it detect any new hardware automatically...if it asks for sound card cd, insert it in your cd drive and install drivers....try to update your driver by going to the sound card manufacturerse websitethen download and install latest software and drivers....

Not detecting any wireless networks

You have not mentioned having a wireless router or access point to serve as the hub on an infrastructure network. I you have a router please let me know -- the instructions for the solution changes.

The following is an article to create an ad hoc network between wireless cards without a wireless access point or a router. If you ignore the steps about connecting to the internet with a wired connection and the internet sharing instructions. This will allow your machines with wireless adapters to communicate with each other (assuming the operate on a common band). The article goes on to indicate one machine with a wired connection can act as the "router" for the other two when it is on to allow them share internet access with the wired machine (the wired machine also needs a wireless card for this to work).
