I don't think that the 2255 could be expanded. The package came with only 2 handsets. If more than 2 handsets are needed, you will need to purchase something new.

Speaker volume not on or working. I can hear talking but no one can hear me answer. And no, the mute button is not on.

This is a very peculiar problem. I think in your model the base unit cannot be used to dial out otherwise I would have suggested you dial out from base unit and check. You could also confirm what happens if you receive a call on your phone rather than dial out. Is your voice still not heard in that situation.
If your model supports calls between handsets then try to check if you can have conversations between handsets.(no dial out).
One option is to reset your phone and re-register all the 5 handsets to base unit.

If you do not have a user manual then you can download a copy from this site and follow the instructions for reset and re-register.

Unregistered has appeared on screen. No line available.

This is on a cordless handset? If so, it's somehow lost its connection with the base, possibly because of a brief power outage or other reason. The handset needs to be re-registered with the base. I wish I could tell you exactly how to do that, but without knowing the make and model of your phone that's impossible. Please look it up in the manual.

If you require further assistance, feel free to respond to this post and specify the make and model of your phone.

NEED USER MANUAL FOR KX-TAG931S PHONE HANDSET What I really need is how do I make the incoming call go to Voice Mail without it ringing 4 times.

You may download the KX-TGA931 manual from http://shop.panasonic.com/shop/model/KX-TGA931T?support

The number of rings is controlled by the answering machine or voicemail system on your phone line. It cannot be changed from the handset. Please refer to the documentation for whatever answering machine or voicemail system you have.

If you require further assistance with the answering machine or voicemail system, please tell us the make and model.

Vetch cordless phone says not registered and will not work....need help?

The handset needs to be registered with the base unit. Enter the model of your VTech phone into the search box at http://www.vtechphones.com/support/general/manuals to download a copy of the manual and see how to register the handset to the base.

The phone says charge but it keeps beeping

five handsets each will need to be properly adjusted. You may need to set the main handset to synchronize with the base unit plugged into the telephone wall jack and assign special configuration numbers to the other handsets in order to properly identify each one within a specified location. One handset left in the turned on mode may make it impossible to place calls with the any of the other handsets. This will continue until either the battery dies or fails on the handset or the phone is switched off and replaced in its charger for charging again. Synchronize the main handset by pressing the MENU button on the handset, then pressing the down button IN order to select the number you wish to assign to that handset. Repeating this process if you have already done so will greatly decrease the level of errors experienced with panasonic phones.

Add extra handsets to Uniden 5.8Mhz

first thing to try.... place each handset into the base of the system you want them to be on.... and watch the charging light... it should flicker... the phone may work then... do that with all the phones..... also what is the make and model of the unit you already had.

And if you don't already have it... here is the user guide for that phone system.

My handset has a blinking icon, indicating not close to base

I found the 800 number to call, spoke to customer service, they gave me the suggestion of unplugging the base from the outlet, removing the batteries from the handset, wait 5 minutes and plug in and put in the batteries. Yes, that fixed it. And then the customer service technician called back later to see if it had worked. I thought that was above and beyond the call of duty. Certainly a good way to win customers!
